“1942 Ford GPW Script. This is one of the first GPW’s made, and it still has its GPW script on the back. The windshield is not stock, and neither are the seats. The dash is in good shape except it has a hole for an aftermarket radio in it, and the floor was clearanced for a larger transmission. The vehicle has a slight body lift, along with very rare Rancho lift springs. It has a flanged Dana 44 rear end. The frame is fully boxed, and a dual exhaust system is ran from from the engine bay to the back. My best guess is this vehicle is set up for a flathead V8. The serial number is visible, however there is no title for the vehicle. Overall it’s in great condition. The original paint is under the white. No engine/transmission/transfer case. (Wheels and tires pictured not included)”

Not sure about the price on this one, but it is unusual in that it has been widened and lengthened. It is unclear to me what axles this uses.

“1943 Ford BB GPW JEEP. Clear GPW title but I call it the BB for big boy. It is about ten inches wider and about two feet longer then the normal WWII Jeep. For anyone larger that can not fit into a normal WWII jeep, this should fit you like a glove and is for you. Or for other person this has plenty of steering wheel and leg room. It has power steering, power brakes with a four cylinder fuel injected engine with the five speed manual trans.

This bad boy head turner has done 70 mph plus down the highway (speed limit) with more to go, and it rides and handles like a dream. In honor of our military persons and to help make them feel proud as they should, I have had many of our USA Veteran’s (past and present) sign the jeep in there honor.

This is a one of a kind proto type WWII Jeep and I dont think there is another like it in the world. I can work with you to have it shipped, or you can come pick it up and drive it home to any of the 49 states or where you can get to by land. The right top fender has a floor jack and tools that looks like a machine gun”

1943 GPW w/ CJ Tub Palo Cedro, CA $3000

This is a mix of parts. It does not include a battery.

“It’s a 43 Ford, 47 tub. Was planning on getting it ready for some trails with friends but I realized I like VWs more. I think it has the original engine. Pan is in decent shape. Engine runs and transmission works although I have only ran through the first two gears on our property. Brakes need to be redone. I have all the replacement brake parts and an aftermarket wiring harness along with a second carb that will come with it. Has a soft top that is not really functional. Tires are delaminating pretty well. Great project for someone … Battery does not come with the car.”

The body is a civilian replica. I don’t see much “GPW” here.

“Flat fender Ford Jeep project, All there, Buick V-6, Auto trans, overdrive, lots of extra and loose parts and pieces, was a fully running vehicle prior to tear down. Body is a brand new, Archer Bros. body never painted, not open to negotiation or price haggling. If you are interested let me know. 1943 Metamet-Modified Flattie UK £10,995

• CATEGORIES: Features, GPW (Ford MB), MB • TAGS: .

Blaine spotted this Metamet-modified jeep that was owned by the Metamet family. This doesn’t seem to match any of the models on the list of models from the Metamet brochures. The split window windshield doesn’t not appear to fold down, the doors look to be of a suicide style, and the top appears to be a soft top. It’s kind of Jeepsterish.

“This is actually a 1943 ww2 jeep that has been converted into a 4wd roadster , lots of the original inner bodytub remain, Its running and driving but will need renovating , chassis is superb condition , there are lots of options with this jeep, leave as is, change it a bit or revert it back to a ww2 jeep again, Its the only one made by the Metamet company back in the late 1950s, TAX and MOT exempt, UK registered, this unique ww2 jeep conversion, been stored unused for 40 years, this conversion done by the well known metamet jeep conversion company in the 1950s/ 60s, this model never ended up going into production and this is the only one made despite it being shown in the sales brochure, I have fitted original jeep wheels and personally think it looks better and gives it back a bit of its former DNA but the original wider road wheels and tyres go with it

It was kept by a member of the Metamet family as his private vehicle until he recently passed away , this willys mb jeep was built in 1943 and served in the war , the dvla mot history records show that it left the military service and was registered for road use in 1958, sometime after this date the conversion was done , Its been stored unused for the last 40 years , engine is now running , I have a whatsap of the jeep driving, it will need recommissioning brakes refurbishing, fuel line checking through but the chassis is excellent , exhaust all good, radiator holds water and it starts and drives , the engine is smooth, includes extra fitments like free wheeling hubs, radio, clock, folding front bench seat , sports car type fold down hood, hinged doors, drop down boot, this is the only one of its kind in the world and should really be in a collection or museum , most of the original bodytub remains , It could easily be re bodied back to its former ww2 jeep bodywork with a new reproduction body tub , large leather bound file containing many photos and drawings of the build has since been found and I’m hoping to collect that soon”
