Amy wrote, “It belonged to my grandfather. I was unable to buy it when he passed and to see it for sale again, it would mean the world to me to know where and if I can get it back. I spent my summers working on and going for drives in this car. It was my grandfather’s pride and joy. Please any information you have is appreciated.”

“McClure ohio, $6,500 obo . 1949 willys jeepster. 6 cylinder ( not original- came with a 4 so I’m told ) by vin number. But is the correct lighting 6 cylinder for that year of jeepster. Last on the road in 1980 . According to the sticker on the plate . DOESN’T RUN. my grandad recently passed away, and for whatever reason he took the fuel pump, distributor and carburetor off . I FOUND THE DISTRIBUTOR AND CARB 😁😁😁 There’s a couple fuel pumps in the back of the car ( box SAYS jeepster on it ) ENGINE IS FREE AND HAS COMPRESSION. The interior is in really good condition. The car has some rust on rockers. The entire underneath of it was painted by me in about 98 or so . Always kept inside. Top is in good shape . There’s extra parts for it ,and every jeepster part I find I’m putting with it . Cash only no trades.”

“1949 Willys Jeepster and good drivable condition. Three (3) speed on the column with electric overdrive. Fun weekend vehicle for the whole family, including the dog. The Jeepster is an automobile originally produced by Willys-Overland Motors from 1948 to 1950.[3] It was developed in hopes of filling a gap in the company’s product line, crossing over from their “utilitarian” proto SUVs and trucks to the passenger automobile market. The basic model included numerous deluxe features and interior fittings in addition to a high level of standard equipment that cost extra on other automobiles. A total of almost 20,000 were manufactured.”
Mike spotted this Jeepster body. This appears to have potential based on the pics.

“Classic 1967 Jeepster Deluxe Convertible. Runs great. Body is rust free. Chrome bumpers have slight pitting. Currently has bucket seats installed but I have the factory original low back seats and will include them in the sale. Newer paint, newer tires with 95% tread and newer top. This has an automatic transmission!!! Power top mechanism was working when I replaced the top but I did not reinstall the old parts; it should work if parts are replaced. Original radio doesn’t work, gas gauge does not work. Looks great and runs great. 4wd mechanism is not connected, we use this only to make ice cream runs in nice weather in the summer. Never goes out in the rain, etc.”
Looks in good shape.

“Phaeton VJ-3. This was an open air convertible with soft top and removable side curtains. It is one of only 2960 built and is powered by a rebuit L-head 4 cylinder 3 speed engine with overdrive. It has been restored to its original look. The tan convertible top is in excellent condition. The vehicle runs and drives fantastic and it is in outstanding condition.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $27,500.
Mike spotted this detailed rebuild converted to 4-Wheel-Drive. There are a few pics of the rebuild on the ad.
“The Willy’s Jeepster was Willys attempt shortly after world war two, to enter into the family car business as Willys had previously made only jeeps. The “Jeepsters” as they were called had Jeep looking front ends and came as a two wheel drive, convertible, 4 cylinder engine and “three on the tree” transmissions. What makes this Willys so unique and cool, is that it has been converted to a 4X4 with “three on the floor” and has an upgraded fresh 6-cylinder engine to boot making this Jeepster a one of a kind. The”French Grey” paint color really looks great and this Jeepster really turns heads. The bigger wheels and tires give this Jeepster an awesome stance. (lift this thing 3 more inches and put a roll-bar on it to send it to the moon) This is a frame up restoration with a newly rebuilt 6-cylinder engine. (see build pictures) Perfect for this Southern California weather and beaches. This is something that you will not have to worry about anyone else having. Its sad, but need to sell due to this coronavirus economy.”
