“42 WW II willys jeep chassis. very good condition..Has machine gun mount plate. had been stored inside for years. Sorry no title. asking $600”
Joe and his GPW attended the 24th Annual Military Vehicle Show held by the Arizona Military Vehicle Collectors Club this past weekend. It looks like he was having plenty of fun!
UPDATE: Was $20,000. **SOLD**
(08/28/2014) Looks solid.
“I am selling my 1945 Willy’s MB that I restored in 2005. Since the restoration the Jeep has been driven 3000 miles and is in perfect running and driving condition. Every part on this jeep has been replaced or re-built when the restoration was done. The only bad thing about the Jeep is that it has some minor bumps and minor scratches from being driven, stored , shows and parades. With that being said it is not a trailer queen I have enjoyed driving it every one of those 3000 miles. The only reason I am selling it is because I don’t have time for it and keeping it stored is not doing it any favors. I would love for this Jeep to go to someone that will use and enjoy it.The Jeep includes the working Radios, and plenty of gear to go with it to make it authentic. The DOD on this Jeep is 7/11/1945. The Body is a reproduction but the frame and most of the hardware is either NOS or original. This was an original radio jeep and the old body can be included with the sale if the buyer wants it. The restoration was photo documented and I have all receipts to show that I am asking much less than I have in it. The Jeep has a clean VA title and YOM license plate that can be registered to the new owner.”
Ouch!
“selling 43 army jeep. yes its been in a basement fire,4 cylinder. i am in oakhurst. 250 best offer.”
UPDATE: SOLD on eBay for 8628.
This is a unique jeep. It’s a Slat Grille with a Glove Box built for Britain. Read all about it below.

UPDATES:
I’ve had a few questions on the signifcance of the BRT designation and why it is so unique.
What the BRT specifically stands for is “Britian” and it’s marked specifically on the data plate in the “mystery box” on the line that says “MAKE MODEL” “WILLYS MB” just above the Serial Number location.
The BRT marking makes this jeep specifically a British contract jeep. Produce by the Willys Factory specifically for export for the British military during the war. Exports contract negotiated happened before the US even entered the war. Making even the story of the BRT’s very interesting.
Eventually some of the British contracts request were filled with reconditioned vehicles due to American war needs. The actual number of BRT jeeps that were produced is very few and fewer survive today.
There is an excellent sections on Export jeeps specifically the BRT and specifically differences in markings and later modifications written by Peter Ferris in Lloyd White’s book “The Evolution of the Willys-Overland MB Jeep Volume 1” (chapter 8 for those of you that have the book; but if you would like to know where to get a copy of the book send me an email and I can set you in the right direction)
As noted earlier being that this slat has a glove box it is VERY rare, being that it has the BRT designation makes it even rarer. This jeep is one of the most unique, smallest production, most coveted jeeps of the war, and very deserving of a proper restoration.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $14,000.
Not totally original, but looks like a solid parade jeep.
“This is a 1944 Willys MB that saw service in Europe from 1944 through 1945; was sold surplus following the war; current owner bought the jeep in Germany in 1987 and returned the jeep to Baltimore in 1989. Jeep is in perfect running condition, has no rust, and has original seats and canvas top; engine is not the original but is a 1945 original Willys engine. Original transmission, transfer case, and axles however. Has been converted to 12-volt and has a non-original electrical wiring harness. This jeep could be fully restored to show condition or used as-is. Given olive drab coat of paint with World War II markings in 2000.”
Could be an easy restoration or drive as is.
“1942 Willys MB jeep. 4 cyl, 4 wd, 3 spd manual trans. In great shape for its age. Clean PA title and currently registered and inspected as a classic. It is road worthy now and I do drive it occasionally. Always stored inside. Asking 8500 obo”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1100
The dash has no glovebox.
“This is 1944 Jeep from World War II made by Ford. It has the original T84 transmission, transfer case, steering, radiator and axles. Windshield inner and outer frame is present. it’s a project that needs restoration. Transmission case was taken down and inspected but is usable and needs a rebuild. Seats are not original to the jeep. Front frame horns will need repair. Have an extra tub for parts. This jeep looks good in pictures but lots of bondo was used by someone. Lots of small misc parts will go with this to include canvas for seats, repro bumper, repro hat channels, fuel tank sump, and many small misc parts. Frame serial number confirmed is 198348. Data plates are missing. This vehicle has a title. This was a parts jeep that is why so many items are missing. No original wheels, engine, gauges seats or underhood items are left. I’m open to reasonable offers. If this add is up then its available.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1500.
It’s a project/parts jeep.
“WWII Jeep
Did run when we parked it.
Looks mostly original.
This is definitely for enthusiasts. If you don’t know anything about these you probably don’t want it.
The longer this ad is up the more information I keep receiving from people educating me on what I have. It’s worth much more than $1500. But since that’s the price I decided on I’m not going to change it. However I have decided that the $1500 is a firm price. I hope someone with the money and time to restore it buys it. Would love to see it go to a good home. Cheers.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2000
“1943 Willys MB Jeep parts or complete the rebuild, most parts are there, the motor has an M-38 head on it, ran when parked and jeep was taken apart in hopes of frame off restoration. Needs sandblasting completed, frame work, and small things like knobs and etc. Front bumper, Rt step panel, fuel tank well and rear body panel are aftermarket, everything else is vintage like the gauges, GPW script transfer case”

The engine and rear axles has been swapped (at the very least).
“1943 Willys – Overland Military Jeep…. This is a project vehicle… Jeep was found under a house, mummified…. Been there since 1968… Had to drag it out… Power train frozen… 4 cyl military motor had been swapped out with a 6 cyl Studebaker somewhere in the early 50’s…. That’s all the old gal could remember…. She said it was running when it went into it’s grave… Some parts are off motor, starter, generator… Does/did it run… No Idea… A family member started to get it running… Pulled tranny & transfer case… Found broken gears in tranny… Bought new,,, Included… Then started on transfer case… found reason for locked power train…. transfer case completely rusted solid… and so ended the repairs to the Jeep…. Have some manuals… included…Tub is in great shape…. No Rust… most all parts from original Military configuration seem to be there…. but you need to see and make up your own mind… This baby needs some TLC…. Jeep does roll but must have all wheels off ground to transport…”

UPDATE **SOLD** Was $2500.
It’s been customized.
“I am selling my Jeep… I bought it a little over a year ago, and have done a lot of work in starting to restore it. It has a 56 ford straight six engine, an old three speed manual transmission, 87 Toyota axles and is a lot of fun. I put on a new starter, single wire alternator, wiring harness, brake lines, and custom soft top. I bought it for 2500, and wanted to slowly build up parts to do a total rebuild. Unfortunately life gets in the way, so I am going to let it go. It is a ton of fun, and always grabs attention, and it could be someones dream car with a little time and patience.”
UPDATE: More photos added, including interior shots. It’s clearly a compilation of parts. It is listed as a 1950 M-38, but the body and fenders are MBish or aftermarket MBish. Unclear why there are no tool indents on driver’s side.
