Altoy Jeepster Ione, CA eBay
Thanks to Roger Martin for spotting this altoy on eBay.

“Luzon Red 1948 VJ Jeepster. Willy’s dealerships would have these on display in the showrooms. Because the level of detail is so perfect, only 150 are known to have been made.
They were made by a company called Al-Toy in the ’40s, right after WWII. The Jeepster Touring Car is considered the last American touring car, and so it has a following all on its own as a collectible.
This particular toy in this condition is hard to come by. Most have broken or missing parts (front bumper, steering wheel, vent window frames, missing hubcaps). This toy is in great shape with no broken or missing pieces. Hand painted Jeepster decals on the fenders and the painted dash gauges. The hand painted white wall tires finish out the incredible detail that went into this toy.
Jeep measures about 15” long 5” wide and 5 ½” high at the windshield. It weighs a whopping 6 lbs. All four rubber tires move freely.
Also included are 3 dealership service pins (10, 15, and 20 years of service). Ships to the lower 48 states only.”

Toy Jeep from Hobby Lobby
Blaine shared this ‘toy’ jeep he saw on Collectors Weekly. Neither of us had seen it before, but a commenter on that site said it was an “Art Decor piece likely sold at Hobby Lobby.”
“It’s a vintage Jeep Tin Toy that I recently bought. The writing on the hood is “U.S.A. 252678548”. It measures about 11 1/2 inches long, about 4 inches tall, and about 5 inches wide. On the bottom, it has “52” stamped on it. On the hood, it has a star.”
Leddy Willys MA Model + Ford GA Model **SOLD**
This combo sold on eBay for $62.89. It features what appears to be a Leddy Willys MA model jeep + a built Ford GPA (possibly a Leddy model also). I was about to make a $110 bid to buy both just before the auction ended, but then I noticed the model box had no top. I thought that hurt the value, so declined to bid. I may regret that as the chances of finding another Leddy MA model probably isn’t very good.

My “New Civilian Jeep” California Moulder Plastic Agri-Jeep
I spotted this plastic jeep on a buy-it-now eBay ad, but didn’t recognize it. It looked unusual due to the spare tire placement (CJ-2-like), so I made an offer and scored it. After some research, I learned it is pretty unique.
According to Fred Coldwell (you can see his collection of these below), “in 1945 California Moulders, Inc., Los Angeles 11, California, produced plastic models of the 1944 CJ-2 jeep named the “Agrijeep”. These first 20 CJ-2 civilian jeeps can be identified by their spare tire mounted mid-body on the passenger side, as faithfully reproduced in the plastic models below. These CJ-2 models came in a variety of colors, and the red and white and blue and white model pairs shown below have opposite colored hood, bodies, tailgates and tires. I have yet to find the complimentary models to the blue and yellow and white and green plastic CJ-2 jeeps. These very first plastic models of “The New” Civilian Jeeps are not easy to find, but over the decades I have collected the ones shown here. Enjoy!”
Mine is all one color (I have yet to find a comparable one on the internet), but lacks the windshield. It seems like it got too hot (see the front bumper), so it’s hardly a perfect specimen. There are no markings on it, other than “39” is printed on the box; I’m unclear what that signifies (no company name on the box either).

Blaine spotted an unusual toy on Craigslist. Anyone recognize this wooden jeep? It seems to be missing the steering wheel and a windshield. It’s probably a one-off, but figured I’d check.

Western JEEP Toy Ads on eBay
UPDATE: Here are three Western JEEP toy ads on eBay.
1. This ad appeared in the May 1946 issue of Toys and Novelties. It looks to be an early ad for the Western Jeep. I didn’t realize it was manufactured out of Seattle.
2. This ad appeared in the Playthings Magazine in September of 1946. It announced that the Western Jeep had proven too popular and was sold out. There was a kiddie ride called the Western Jeep that look like it used this style of jeep (see post below this one).

3. This ad appeared most likely in a 1946 issue of Toys and Novelties. The seller of this ad is purposefully obscuring the date and magazine, so it isn’t clear whether when this ad was published.

4. This ad appears in a 1947 magazine, probably Toys and Novelties. It announced a new low price (though the price of the ad on eBay is anything but low):
