Not authentic SAS restorations, but still they look like fun.

Wagner-Trac on a CJ-2A
Glenn spotted these Wagner-Tracs on a CJ-2A. While it has a CJ-2A body, this is probably a CJ-5 or CJ-3B frame, because the tracks require a wheel base of exactly 81 inches. The tracks are one of six produced and bolt onto the axles.
According to the information at the video’s homepage:
“The Tracks were manufactured by a company called “A. F. Wagner Industries Inc.” of concord California. They were made sometime during the mid 60s and there was only 6 sets made and were apparently expensive and thus may be the reason there were so few made. They are called “Wagner-Trac” and were made specifically as a set of tank tracks for a jeep with a wheelbase of 81 inches. The wheelbase is not adjustable so the wheelbase is critical and just like a tank you would have to install turning brakes to drive the Jeep because the steering is null and void as soon as you bolt them on. They are all steel construction so were probably designed for offroad only.”
Highly modified CJ-3B with Parkette Body on Stacey David’s Video
Roberto forwarded this. I’m not sure how old the show is, but this build has been around a few years. You can see many more pics of it here.

Bad Day at Black Rock
Ann’s mom Rosemary has learned to watch for jeeps. She alerted me a couple days ago to a movie she recorded with Spencer Tracy from 1955 called Bad Day at Black Rock. It’s a good movie. One of the reasons it is such a good movie is that a good looking Willys MB plays a staring role and receives some good screen time. It even gets to be involved in a chase scene! Here are some closeups:
Roberto’s Canvas Heads to South Carolina
Roberto took a video of the canvas he created. It is now being shipped to South Carolina. You can see how he illustrated it here.

Flattie on the Farm, Complete with Narration
This made me laugh. Just a silly movie.
Another Farming Example
Here is an example of a grass cutter being used to trim some clover.
Mike Mark shows that he knows how to cut a clover field with his 1948 CJ-2A.
Kevin’s CJ-3B Farming Demonstration
Kevin created several good videos of a farm jeep in its natural habitat. Thanks for doing that Kevin!

What Not To Do When Jeeping Videos
Brian forwarded these videos. What he was hoping they might stimulate are some comments about what might have been done differently . Of course, it would be easy to poke fun at the driver’s, but in some cases they might not have known better. So, maybe with some videos like this we can generate some teachable moments.
So, for example, Brian pondered the following contributing factors to the below accident:
(a) Lack of concern and respect of the trail leading to no trail spotter?
(b) Driver failing to understand center of gravity of Jeep ~VS~ gravity.
(c) Failing to recognize trail surface was equal to ball-bearings.
(d) The jeep seemed to be holding the hill before reversing. Driver failed to place jeep in revers and power out. (Related all above)
If you find a non-racing, non-stupidity-drinking back yard yahoo video, just guys/gals on the trail with factors that lead to misfortune, email it to me at d@ewillys.com.
Brian also shared this one, which demonstrates that even the woman running the camera knew this wasn’t a good idea.
Cherokees Don’t Make Good River Boats
Brian forwarded this. Wait for the Jeep Cherokee and watch it float the river, or not float it. So, here is the question, you have a camera and someone you know is experiencing an emergency. Do you keep filming?
Pete’s Trip Down To Moab
This past weekend Pete, from the Old Willys Forum, drove down to the 2nd Annual Willys Moab Rally 2011 put on by Casey Dimmitt. He reports that they had plenty of fun and wished they could stay longer. Pete put this video together (I think to make us all jealous so that we’ll join them next year!). Thanks for sharing Pete, I love that area!

Wandering Willys Jeep Club Movie Preview
Brian spotted this. Since we are both ex-members of the WWJC, we admittedly had a soft spot for it. Apparently, the club makes an annual movie of the year’s events and this was the preview for last year’s movie.
Mahindra History Overview
Thanks to Brian for spotting this video. Though the music overshadows the narrator in many instances, there are a wide variety of images presented that make it work a look.

Colombia Yipao Videos
I was checking some stats tonight and learned that readers from the country of Colombia constitute one of the largest blocks of readers of eWillys outside the US. So, in solidarity, I thought a few Yipao videos were in order 🙂
Part way through, watch as the driver climbs out while the jeep keeps spinning!
In this one, the driver jumps on top of the jeep while it spins:
