Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I have several jeeps and many parts, I have running driving jeep CJ7 has rebuilt 258 straight 6, and 3 speed. tub is in very good condition, has new brakes all around, new ignition, new coil, distributor, alt, and fuel pump, this was a military surplus vehicle as is all of the jeeps I have. I have a 1946 CJ2a, 1967 CJ5 Army MP, and a M151A1 Mutt. I have some pictures and will get more as I can. I have 2 military trailers I think they are m416 but I will look for the plates.”

Here’s a light mileage CJ-5.

I had a stroke in October, 2015 and was paralyzed on my right side, so I have to sell my jeep, pickum up truck, bicycle, and scooter.

(12/27/2016) “Here’s a Jeepster that is begging to be finished ! Before moving from Iowa to Missouri, I had removed the body (tub) and totally restored the chassis. Upgraded the engine to a 4.3L short block from a ’92 Chev pickup ( has TBI ), rebuilt 700r4trans, rebuilt DANA 44rear axle with new brakes, rebuilt DANA 30 front axle with new brakes, rebuilt power steering, all new springs& bushings, new custom driveshafts, new wheels & tires. Saved all the wiring from the Chevy, so all can be used including the Chevy instrument panel. New plastic gas tank. Have good body from Colorado with xtra doors, perfect tailgate, new chromed bumpers, new bumper guards , and many other extras. This body has had the underside already cleaned, repaired, primed and painted. The expensive part is done, as I have over $15,000 invested in the project . Finishing the body is all this Jeepster needs, but I am no longer set up to do this work anymore. My loss – your gain. Call& we’ll talk. All engine accessories are new : Alternator, A/C compressor, water pump, power steering pump , all belts, hoses, etc. Engine was test run in May, fluids filled, all checked OK. It’s now packed and ready to winch onto your trailer.”

“Testing the waters. Complete, nose is current off and engine is free but needs rebuilt. It’s a ohv amc 196 inline 6. Has spair axles, tranny, t case, and factory engine. and a mopar 273 with adapter for a extra couple bucks. Needs leafs leafsprings and new steering shaft. Interior is complete and in decent shape. Overall pretty good for being eligible for the senior menu.”
