“1950 cj3a Buick 215 v8 3 speed Needs complete floor pan Runs and drives great Clean title”
I wasn’t planning on doing a racer update today, but both Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist were having issues last night loading pages. So, since, I took pics with the body yesterday, I figured I’d throw these up here. The cage is almost done, then on to floors and seats. OR, maybe shock mounts and rear sway bar.
UPDATE: This post originally appeared April 2, 2016
The February 1959 of Man’s Magazine contained photos and short report from the annual Jeep Rodeo in Yakima, Washington. Unfortunately, most of the pics aren’t a whole lot different from the March 1959 issue of Modern Man Magazine, featured in 2013.
Man’s magazine turned out to be a lot less risqué than the cover image and headlines might suggest. There was even an opinion article expressing concern over how American college football was fast becoming too professionalized.
UPDATE: Still Available.
(10/16/2022) Appears in good shape. PTO bar has been cut off and the area where the spare tire mount mounts looks redone.

“1948 Willy’s Jeep. 1700 miles. Excellent condition. Manual transmission. Runs great. Manufacture color – Michigan Yellow. Original tires.”
Is the an original Maverick? Was that center console an option for wagons (or for Mavericks?)?

“1959 Willy’s Mavrick wagon very rare matching numbers ! Original motor inline v4

Update: SOLD Was $5000.
Could be a good price.
“Titled as a 1944 Ford GPW but im not exactly sure what it is. I’ve been told the frame and below are from a CJ-5, that it has SBC 350, muncie 4 speed, dana 20 transfercase, centered dana 44 rear Dana 30 front. I bought it in May and only drove it a few times, wanted to keep it for EJS but I’d rather put funds into my Willys Wagon. In Spanish Fork under a cover. 5000 obo”
The blue one is a parts jeep.
“1962 Willys Jeep CJ5. This is a great survivor !! Very straight and complete. The transmission had issues but I have spares to repair it. I also have another CJ5 that will be included.
$ 6900 for both Jeeps and lots of parts.”
This project appears to have a VEC body.

“This is an Army 1952 Jeep Willys. 24 Volt (2 batteries). I did originally drive it but it now has a head gasket problem beyond my ability to repair. I’m a 26 year vet who was hoping to drive this jeep and enjoy past memories. It needs a mechanics touch. I will add more information and pictures shortly as it also comes with a army trailer, doors and top, roll bar, a metal rack that slides into the trailer hitch, chains, and a variety of other accessories i.e. (heater) etc. Serious buyers only please/cash sale (I have the title). If cashier’s check, then buyer will accompany seller to a local bank to make the deposit”
Bill shared this nice looking truck.
https://www.hemmings.com/listing/1947-willys-pickup-246235
“This 1947 Willys-Overland pickup painted in Arctic Grey is one of approximately 2,500 manufactured in 1947. The truck is powered by a L6-226 Super Hurricane engine that runs beautifully. The electrical system has been upgraded to 12V by a previous owner. A refurbishment by the current owner started in January 2021 after being purchased in Arizona and was completed in November 2022. The work included rust proofing underbody and frame, applying bedliner finish, new fuel tank, sending unit and line, fuel pump, aluminum radiator, thermostat, engine and heater hoses, water pump, belt, points, plugs, wires, carburetor rebuild, paint, professional tune-up and oil/filter change. Equipment includes a custom rear bumper/hitch, a heater/defroster, 5-gallon side-mounted gas can and a side-mounted spare. This pickup is offered with a service manual, receipts for work performed and parts, vintage AZ license plate, car cover and a clean Washington title.”
Mike spotted this CJ-5. The body is in pretty good shape for a PA body. However, this does not have a title, so keep that in mind with PA DMV rules. It has a Kelly Manufacturing hardtop.

“Up forsale is a 1969 cj-5 v6 dauntless 3 speed 4×4 This is a great restoration project. Or mechanically get it going and rock the patina. This Jeep spins over and the trans runs through all the gear with a tight shift Patern. No title $2500. Look closely at the back is the tub and how dent/ rot free this tub is. It’s not a rotted mess like most of these cj-5’s are. Also. Has rare and highly sought after wide wheels.”
These pics may be before the seller disassembled it.

“A real Hurst Jeepster. It is complete with title. I am the second owner. I have it apart right now to restore. Life has got in the way and I have bills that need my attention, Own one of only 300 know to still be around. Buick V-6 and turbo 400 trans. Hurst dual gate shifter, Tach in hood scope. All parts are in the Jeep.”
Bill shared this solid appearing CJ-5. It’s formerly from Colorado, but being auctioned by what looks to be a non-profit (that accepts donations). It starts, but stalls. It’s been updated to a V8 and a different transmission of some kind. The seller hasn’t confirmed whether there are DMV fees on this, so I would recommend contacting the DMV to see if you can determine if that’s the case.

This (I think) is the Fall 1976 – Winter 1977 issue of Jeep News. It is 20 pages, plus a 2-page ad flyer. I see now that my camera-scans of this aren’t the best. My apologies.
Blaine shared this interesting image of possibly a postcard that promoted an FC-150 giveaway contest. Based on the info, I’d say this was part of the FC-150 launch in 1957.

“1953 Blue CJ3B currently has sbc under the hood. I believe it to a 327. I can’t confirm that because I’ve never run the numbers. I drove the cj onto my trailer when I originally bought it. I have a complete Hurricane 🌀 for it. As you can see it is pretty much complete. I have clear Washington title in my name. In addition I have another nearly complete White Cj3b. It is what you see from the pictures. It comes with Bill of Sale only. I am willing to consider part or possibly straight across trade for Air-cooled VW Bug,Bus, Ghia project or parts. I am now willing to separate. I’m not willing to sell any parts. $8,500 for both or?”
