Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “This is a great deal for legendary Jeep that can climb a tree. This 1954 CJ3B has had the electric system changed from 6v to 12v with an alternator, recently rebuilt transmission. It does have a couple of rough spots, mainly on the hood. Also with the low gear ratio it’s top speed is around 40-45mph. Don’t let this sweetheart get past you.”

Here’s a cool FC item.
“Kaiser jeep willys jeep forward control. This is a very rare whirl away ashtray jeep dealer promotion item. Purchased from estate of a man who owned a jeep dealership for many years. It is a chrome ashtray with a jeep fc on top. I have done a lot of research and only found one similar which had a cj3b on it. These were only sold to dealerships. And the fc was only made for a few years. You may never see another one. Looks like it will shine up nice . I lest the dirt and grime on it. A bit of rust where the ashes sat. Ask questions look photos over well.”

“I orig. purchased this to build an offroad vehicle and then found out it was an actual M38 Military Willys that was only made from 50′ to 52′ and not just a normal cj2a-3a jeep so I have decided to move it on hopefully to a collector of this type of vehicle as it would be a shame to cut up a piece of history , It has been updated/changed over the years so it is not 100% original but it wouldn’t take much for the military Jeep collector to return it to stock , In its current state it runs and yard drives enough to move it around or load it on a trailer due to it needing tires and some carb tinkering/tune-up work , Continue reading

“Classic WWII era Jeep Willys CJ 2A up for sale. This Willys has been highly modified with many modern touches.
Drivetrain: The original 4cyl has been replaced with a 1979 Buick 252CI V6 engine that has a torque grid RV cam with a new Holley 4bl 470CFM Truck Avenger carburetor. This carburetor is made for the high angles involved in off roading. It keeps the engine running even when the Jeep is at the tipping point. Engine is also equipped with a AC compressor converted to an Air compressor with a switch on the dash. Exhaust is true duals with flowmaster mufflers. The transmission is a GM turbo 350 3 speed automatic with a 1500rpm low stall converter. It has a Dana 18 transfer case, the strongest version with full complement roller bearings on the center pin and it has been completely rebuilt. Continue reading

“Selling my ww2 ford gpw, built in September of 1943. Data plates are intact, motor is Willys and not matching. Not completely ford some period Willys parts, typical of vehicles that saw action in ww2. Not running but have new timing chains and doesn’t look like it would take much. Gas tank restored and relined. Just a few too many projects right now call preferred. Is titled in Texas never got the title from owner but can provide that, will need a week or so and can give a bill of sale temporarily. Not going to find an original jeep cheaper”

(11/24/2015) This runs and includes a plow. It has an odd mod on the rear wheel wells.

It ran when I parked it in the garage although I believe it needs a water pump because it would overheat when ran for a longer length of time. Includes a mount and snowplow that the previous owner used with the vehicle. I need garage space for my wife’s vehicle and do not want to store it any longer. I have the vehicle title. (11/05/2015) I’ve seen this up close. It’s a solid truck that has potential.
“This is a 1952 Willys flatbed truck. Has a Studebaker v8 engine but does not run. It has dings and scratches and some cracked glass but minimal rust. Has been kept in a barn for the past 25 years.”
This August 4, 1945, article in the Toronto Daily Star shares the story of an overseas soldier mailing home a jeep in pieces. Perhaps more impressive, a second soldier was mailing home an entire dental office.
