Let’s end the year on this cheery note. This article discussed the usefulness of jeeps following atomic bomb attacks and other, more natural disasters. It filled two pages of the June 1955 issue of Willys News. Given the ‘blast’ artistry in the middle of the article, it didn’t reformat for the web as easily as most articles.
Santa From Australia
One more Santa post. Jalopnik posted this rendition of Santa driving a ‘jeep’ that was painted by Australian James Higgins Quirk in the 1950s. The original image is part of a digital collection at the Museum Victoria.
The Four by Four Pedal Jeep
Blaine spotted this new pedal jeep for sale at Genuine Hot Rod.
“This pedal car captures the look of that classic flat-fendered trail runner preferred by all-terrain kids. It’s constructed of durable stamped steel, with smooth-turning pedals and steering, and steel wheels wrapped in soft, knobbed tires. Measures 33 1/2” L x 16” W x 15” H, perfect for kids 3-6 years old.”

Willys Back End Liquor & Wine Bar
Here’s a heart warming story of a boy, a girl, a jeep and a Merry Christmas!
Mike writes, I wanted to take the time to share with you my Christmas present from my girlfriend. She arranged to have a local artist put together a liquor/wine bar made from the back end of a 49′ Willys. Don’t worry, the jeep was beyond repair. This bar is catered towards my specific hobbies such as my 46′ Willys, my love for Scotch, plus a few other things. I think she’s a keeper!!! Both my girlfriend and the bar!
Jeeps and Joe’s Father and Grandfather

1949 Wagon Northwest Montana **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was For Trade.
“I’ve come across hard times, and need to sell/trade my 1949 Willys Wagon.
It’s in very good shape for its age, and is 99% original, with a few upgrades.
I don’t really really want to throw a price out, but will say I could use a strong running full size truck or van, looks aren’t as important. Preferably a manual trans., and 4 wheel drive. Something that will tow a small household, and something ready to drive across country right now, with no major problems. I’m willing to trade outright, or throw in some cash.”

“1947 CJ2A Willys Jeep. Jeep appears to be all original but will need some work. This old Willys spent most if not all of it’s life on a cattle ranch above Springville, CA. It has the original L134 flathead motor and the motor is free but I haven’t tried to start it. Most of the floor forward of the cargo area is rusted out and will have to be replaced. The original square cornered windshield with the push out two part center glass is included but that also needs some work.”

1983 DJ-5 Huntsville, AL **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1500.
Runs and drives.
“I have a 1983 DJ5 Mail Jeep that I got in trade for sale. It has the 2.5 GM 4cyl automatic 2wd. It is Right Hand Drive. It runs and drives, has decent tires. I have the mail tray but it is not bolted in. This vehicle was being used to deliver mail until about a year ago. Could be used on mail route, farm, made into a cool 4wd or a rat/hot rod. I have read that the 4×4 running gear from a CJ5 is a bolt in and that the frame on the DJ is actually stronger than the CJ frame. I am asking $1500 cash obo. I will negotiate lower price in person and your best deal will be showing me cash. I will consider trades. Call or text only between 7am and 10pm only please. I attached a couple of pictures of what people have done with these.”
