Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “258 AMC straight six motor with Chrysler automatic transmission, all original with 91,428 original miles. Body is clean with the exception of some body rust on back to quarter panels(see pics). Its on a Non-Op because I haven’t been able to pass smog. The battery will not hold charge so it hasn’t been started for about 6 months. It ran and shifted great the last time I drove it. It will need to be trailered because of the Non-Op status! $1000.00 Firm. Cash only”

“I have a 1970 Jeep CJ6 half cab for sale. I purchased it to build an offroad rig but I can’t justify the work/time/expenses just to go beat up such a rare and unique Jeep in the woods. Has the RARE half cab with hard doors (supposedly 1000 or less were made this year?) All factory gauges and interior still there. The body isn’t perfect by any means but it is a good base. Frame is solid. It has the Dauntless V6, 3 speed, and Dana 18 transfer case. Has a Dana 30 front axle w/ superwinch lockout hubs and Dana 44 rear axle. Unsure of gear ratio or if they have lockers. Tires are darn near brand new. There’s tons of spare parts included with the jeep including full HEI ignition system, (2) power steering systems, (3) radiators, lot’s of dauntless v6 engine parts along with other misc parts that go with.
I am asking $3500 OBO. CLEAN TITLE. Need to move off my parents property in Yakima, WA ASAP, come make me an offer. It’s loaded on my trailer so I could deliver depending on price negotiation.”

“1946 Willys CJ-2A. Notes: WILLY’s!!!! This is a 1946 Willy’s CJ2A Rock Crawler. This thing is cool. It has a well built Chevy 350 Motor with a 4 Speed Manual Transmission. This thing is sitting on 1 ton axles with a welded rear and locked front and 38″ Super Swampers. This thing has some serious get up and go. Like most older Jeeps, it is a work in progress and needs some finishing touches, but it runs and drives and is ready for some fun the way it sits. If you want to get some serious attention around town or in the hills, this one will get it for you.”

I stumbled upon a website that celebrates old articles from the town of Walla Walla, Washington, just forty-five minutes east of me. At some point the local newspaper ran a series of articles titled “Heap of the Week”. However, one week they changed the title to “Jeep of the Week”.
This old photo from the South Dakota Department of Agriculture shows a CJ-2A with a 100 gallon tank mounted in the rear at or near Custer State Park. It appears there may be another tank across the cowl. Unfortunately, the photo isn’t very large.

For sale is a WW2 1943 Ford GPW delivered in June of that year. It is a ground up restoration. Rebuilt engine, transmission, axles, brakes, new wiring, F bolts throughout, Ford safety glass, new Beachwood Canvas. Engine matches frame, a full show quality restore. Everything Repaired or replaced. Comes with all British mods, racks, rifle clips, spare mount, take off steering wheel, trailer outlet, pumpkin spot lite and road markers, Jerry cans and tools. Oil can, crank handle, tool roll with tools. 150 miles on rebuilt engine/trans. Runs and drives great, all gauges work.
