Here’s a neat photo from the NPS archives which appears to show a GPW (based on the bumper) parked in front of a B-25H. This was possibly taken in the Aleutians somewhere.

Here’s a photo of Howard Erwin Rummel in front of a jeep from the same archives:

Never heard of the movie “Jump into Hell“.
“Jump Into Hell ’55 JACQUES SERNAS ARMY JEEP WAR GUNS RARE
This vintage original still shows a VERY RARE photo of JACQUES SERNAS (second soldier from the left) and other soldiers firing their guns from the cover of an ARMY JEEP.

Not too many ads with a Slat Grille MB in them.
“This is an original 1946 print ad for Jantzen clothes! It measures approximately 13.25″ x 10.25″ overall, has no tears, with a light stain in the top edge; comes from a dry, high-altitude, smoke-free environment, and is strictly graded ”

Lots of changes to the CJ-2A. “First things first….my price is NON-negotiable and I am NOT interested in time shares, trades, payment plans, body parts, IOU’s, etc! You are viewing a one of a kind Jeep, whose life began 66 years ago. Recently it received a facelift. Now it is powered by a 1977 V8 304 and sits on a shortened 1977 chassis. Comes with a 4 speed manual and runs like a dream. Also has tilt wheel sporting the Willy’s steering wheel. The stereo sits in a 1947 Army communications bag between the front seats. Also sports power steering which is VERY nice. New SS dual exhaust is remarkably quiet. Running the old style military gauges as well, and all work fine. I have a clear TN title which reflects this as a 1947 Jeep. Although seatbelts were not even thought of in 1947 and therefore not required on this vehicle by law, they have been added for safety sake. 4WD works splendid. Beetle Bailey graphics were added last year and can easily be removed if you buy it and don’t want them. Tires are almost new. Be prepared for plenty of thumbs up and people taking pics with their I-phones. If you don’t like attention, this is NOT the vehicle for you. Does not have turn signals, windshield wipers or a top. Though they could be added, this is more of a seasonal classic that is loads of fun. Pricing it cheap because this is not the optimal time of the year to sell a topless vehicle. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3800
It looks like the front grille was moved forward to accommodate a Hurricane 6.
“I bought this Jeep 2 months ago, since owning it I have had the radiator rebuilt and replaced points, condensor, plugs. I replaced wiring to the ignition, horn, coil, and voltage regulator. Everything is stock except the original 4 cylinder motor has been replaced with a Willys Super Hurricane 6 cylinder (late 50’s to early 60’s) which is runs good, no leaks or smoke. Interior is in fair condition, the front and rear seats have been re-upholstered. This Jeep starts up and runs fine. I’m only selling because I have a 1964 jeep and don’t need two projects right now. $3800 obo no trades and I do not need help selling this Jeep!! ”
UPDATE: The GPW was reconditioned by Bechtel. It was listed at $7000 earlier this year. There also appears to be an early MB No-Glove-Box body.
(05/11/2013) “i have a complete ford 1942 ww2 jeep it is complete minus top and back seat i have done alot of research it all checks out the classic F marks are everywhere including most of the bolts the motor has the correct GPW# anf the F on the head air cleaner is early model it seems to be just as the bethal co.refurbished it after the war in 1945 all the data plates are original it has been taged and reg. for over 65 years.i have just been cleaning and stripping old paint to find all the F marks and bolts it runs and drives i will consider serious offers as is for the next 2 weeks then i will do a frame off restoration,PLEASE DONT BOTHER WAISTING TIME.if u dont know the value look it up. I ALSO have early 41 or 42 willys that has the stamp on the rear minus motor and radiator i would sell as a bundle or i would really like to find someone who would like to have me do the restoration for them and he or she can decide what and how we should do everything.this would be better for me and you because i would sell it for less and you could restore it to your satisfaction and that would allow me to do work as this is what i love to do al;so 20% of the sale will go to DVOA thank you to all that have served and those still fighting today.call 918 966 3317 leave messg.call or text anytime 479 883 6839 Steven the 41 tub is one of the first 5k run”
