Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. The body is very solid for a 1951. It has a V6 that runs strong. All parts are there for a complete jeep. “For sale or trade. 1946 CJ2A Willys Jeep body fenders hood windshield tailgate grill and frame only. No title. Body and parts are rough but can be used. Needs the typical rust repairs,it has the original floor under steel plate but not sure of its condition. Frame is in great shape with front horns intact and not hacked on. The guy I bought the frame from stored it behind his barn and the front passenger side sat in the dirt and has rust thru should be an easy fix . I have a spare frame section to repair that area. I was going to make a trail jeep but have since purchased a M37 and will be focused on restoring it. The pictures of the complete jeep are before it was dismantled just to show its overall condition. BEST OFFER or TRADE for M37 parts.”

(08/02/2012) The seller doesn’t say, but I believe this is titled a 1941 based on the frame. It sounds like a solid little jeep.

Mark, Bob, and Sebastian all reported that Saturday’s weather wasn’t the best, with either rain or threats of rain. Still, there was plenty of to do and many jeeps to photograph. The most photographed vehicle seems to be the Concept FC. There are many fans of that rig.

One of the arguments for the Parkway conversion is that the delivery wagon “can now be registered as a suburban vehicle, which grants it access to boulevards and other zoned sections where commercial vehicles are not allowed.”

Buz spotted this one. It is a no-reserve auction on a beautiful, stock CJ-5. You’ll want to look at the pics of this one. Compare the picture of it to the brochure below in the next post, too.
“Selling for my computer inept friend. This 1960 Willys Jeep CJ5 is in Beautiful Original Condition, probably the nicest original CJ5 in existence. Totally Original Paint, Upholstery, Engine, Miles, Everything is ORIGINAL. 21055 miles. Clear Title. Original Spare Tire is not shown in the pictures but is included in the sale. The tires are believed to be the originals and are in good shape with normal wear and no weather checking. The Jeep has been stored in a carefully climate controlled building and has seen just enough use in the last many years to keep everything functional and working well. The Jeep starts easily, runs perfectly, goes down the road as it should, and it needs nothing. The Hardtop appears to have never been removed since new. All fluids are fresh and the battery is new. Look closely at the pictures, they tell the story about this vehicle better than words, more detailed pictures are available if you request them via email. The Jeep shows very minimal use and wear with no damage or repairs. All sheet metal is in oustanding condition and the only corrosion is very minimal, located near the tailights on both sides, the pictures show this clearly. Floor pans, fenders, quarter panels hood, undercarriage, were undercoated early in this CJ’s life and have been remarkably preserved. Gerald wrote, “Well we got things started this year. I worked on setting up a Jeeps Thru The Decades display. one of each Jeep model. My 3B and brothers M-38 in in the group. Here are a couple shots from the grounds. The Underground Jeep guys have brought all their stuff. Boy they are nice and the Jeep Invasion on Main street was this evening. It was a show not a parade.”

Has the Original Engine restored back to original displacement, Even has the original Horn restored, Has all Accesories- First Aid Kit, Fire Extinguisher, Tool Kit (complete), Jack & crank handle, All TM’s (Army Technical Manuals) originals ..not reprints, in the correct Document Bag, Deep Water Fording Kit, Beachwood Canvas throughout including Web Straps, Winter Top, Side Curtains, Doors,etc. Has currently installed a 1919 A4 Browning Machine Gun Dummy on the Correct M-31 Pedistal with all accessories. Commander Antenna Mast Bases and Radio hook-up. I have Command Radios which are avialable with their original Manuals.
This jeep Won at the MVPA (Military Vehicle Preservation Association) 1997 Convention for the ‘Post War Restored Class 1st Place’. It won 1st place award “Commander’s Choice’ , korean War, at ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND in 1999, and a total of 13 other awards and trophy’s before I stopped entering it in judgeing competitions. It has been written up in th ‘Cherokee Tribune Newspaper May 5, 2006, page 1-D, Title ‘American Armor’. It also has been in the MVPA 1999 Calendar for Febuary (Very Difficult to Get In). This Jeep represents the ‘BEST of THE BEST’ for M38’s. PLEASE”

Vehicle is in running condition and all electrical items appear to operate correctly. Spare parts are readily available from many European sources. 1976 four-door model. VIN 71202153. Vehicle has clear USA state title. Vehicle is sold in as is condition without warranty. The license plates do not go with the car.”

One is complete minus a trans and transfercase, ’53 with padded rollcage, has buick V6 motor in it, still on wheels and axles, brand new windshield, bucket seats, big tires, ran up until two weeks ago. I keep a tarp on seats to protect from weather. Motor does run but needs rebuilding, have AZ title for this jeep. Also have a jeep cab on rolling chassis (original wheels). I have lots of extra parts; flat fenders, grills, leaf springs, hoods,etc..too many to list! Some pictures are included.”
