About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“This listing is for a 1940s Willys WWII Jeep. It is in non-running condition and being sold as-is. It is complete with a wooden and metal cab. There are some holes due to deterioration (rust) in the floor. The center of the rear of the jeep was removed to accommodate the double doors of the cab. This Jeep has been stored in a barn untouched for the past 60 years. It is either a 1944 or 1945. The center of the read of the jeep was removed to accommodate the double doors of the cab. Buyer is responsible for removing and transporting the vehicle after the transaction has been completed.”
“Jeep specilty trailer aka a post- WW2 light duty utility trailer, model BT3-C. 6’x5′ not including tongue. Produced by Bantum between 1946 and 1953. Cargo body tailgate, 3 hold down spots on each side, 16″ tires, and 36 x 1 3/4 springs. Rated to support 1000lbs on the road. No paperwork. $500”
John spotted this CJ-5 that went through a restoration. I imagine stock rims and tires would really help complete this one. Note the tailgate lacks the Willys script.
“961 CJ 5 WILLYS JEEP Frame of restoration. Too many new parts to list. Professionally rebuilt transmission and transfer case, all new parts. Runs great just like a 1961 should. Standard 3 speed. Other parts are available.”
“We have a 1954 jeep CJ 3B. Has no motor or transmission currently. This is a rare addition high body. We have an inch thick of paperwork from all the original build in the original owner. Original title and bill of sale. We have dimensions and specs from everything when it was built, including gear, ratios, specs, cylinders, and everything when engine was built And the transmission was built in the axles gear ratios. You name it. Unfortunately no motor no trans currently but it originally had a 428 cobra jet in it. It also comes with a set of 18 inch wide rims with paddle tires. One of those tires is flat. Also have a spare set of bucket seats. This is meant for a project. Put whatever you want in it. It’s a 50 for CJ. Imagine putting something feel injected in it and this thing could be worth upwards of 25 grand or more.”
“Up for sale is a pretty special 1945 Willys MB Military Jeep. This unit is chassis #459405 (production ended at 459874 in Sept 1945) and body #262829 making it one of the final 500 Jeeps produced during WWII. It has excellent bones and will be a great restoration project.

Chassis serial tag still intact (459405)
Body number still visible on driver toe-board gusset (262829)
Correct D25 front and D27 rear axles
T84 transmission

“Real barn find! A neighbor just passed away and had this Jeep stashed deep in his garage for many years. It’s always been parked in a garage and has been protected from the weather. He had done a lot of work to it and replaced many parts before he got sick. No rust or rot on the frame or body. This would be a great project to bring back to life. The motor turns over easily but we haven’t tried to make it run. We just pulled it out to sell. I have the windshield frame and some other random parts that go with it. It also has some seats but they look to be from a newer Jeep. Let me know if you want to come see it. I can deliver for a price if needed. Make an offer. May be willing to trade.”
The body is pretty rusted. The engine compartment and engine looks in good shape. I’m not sure how much value is here.
“I’m ready to sell my 1947 cj2a now. I did a post a couple months ago to see about what it was worth, just so no one thinks it’s a scam, due to using the same pictures. Don’t know much about it. The guy that I got it from wanted to buy it back a year and a half or so ago for $2,150 but I didn’t want to sell it. I was going to use it as a bar/focal piece in my man cave. But I’m moving out of state now and just looking to sell. I’m not a mechanic so I can’t really tell you anything about it. I have the title. Located in sykesville Maryland. Asking $2,000 or best offer”
“This is a project that I’ve started and haven’t finished I’ve got a V6 that’s been checked out with new gaskets and gone through new rebuilt transmission automatic rebuilt transfer case and the adapter for the transfer case and transmission needs a lot more work, but will be really sweet when it’s done all body parts are there”
“1946 willy’s jeep what you see is what you get no moter or Trans rolling chassis what you want to do to it anything possible 2500 obo no trades no payments”
“As it goes, such is life. Time to send my project down the road. It’s a perfect restoration candidate. I purchased from grandson of original owner, non-running.
-Dauntless V6
-Manual transmission
-Cj6, with hardtop
-Matching keys work both doors and rear hatch!
-Swing out tire carrier/fuel carrier (needs work)
See video, now running, after I rebuilt the carb. I replaced fuel lines and drained the old tank, but haven’t tested it since. I ran it through the gears on jack stands, and it turned the rears in all 3 and reverse. Didn’t engaged 4WD. Continue reading →
“1946 CJ2A. This jeep has been sitting in a shed for close to 30 years. Has some kind of a 4cylinder Chevy engine in it. But it’s not mounted. Transmission has Chevy adapter installed and is mounted to the engine. someone was trying to install a power steering rack in it but it doesn’t look safe and will need to be replaced. The jeep is in overall good condition. It’s straight has minimal rust, minus the rot in the storage compartment under the passenger seat. There is NO PAPERWORK, NO ID TAGS NO LICENSE PLATE seats and fuel tank are gone as well. sold as parts jeep only. Tires hold air but are 30+ years old. I’m throwing in A spare tire with stock rim, two L134 Willy’s jeep engines (both buildable) one has a 2wd transmission bolted to it incase you wanted to build some kinda 2wd rat rod jeep..?”
On Tuesday’s triple-digit afternoon, Gerald and his two kids dropped by for a short visit. Gerald and his son Will, from Pennsylvania, are visiting daughter Samantha, who now lives in Washington State, for the week. They’ve been exploring some of the state and on Tuesday their travels brought them to our humble home (technically, we never really made it past the shop).
The last time I’d seen the kids was eleven years ago at the 2013 Bantam Festival, and they were pretty young, so I didn’t recognize them at all. But, Gerald still looked the same … I’m not sure he’s even aged!?! Anyway, in 2013, Gerald gave us the grand tour in his CJ-3B of the Cooper Lake campground, a place they had camped for years.
Gerald was an early reader of eWillys (circa 2009 maybe?). As he put it on Tuesday, his online world consisted of The CJ-3B page and eWillys. Outside, of that, he really didn’t want much to do with the internet. His parents were involved in a local jeep club and also raced, so Gerald and I had shared, via email, many stories of growing up in the old jeep world, desert dogs, camping, etc.
While we talked on Tuesday, Will was checking out the racer, so it wasn’t long before I was running him around the property in it. Here’s a quick clip.
Then he climbed in, all smiles, for a chance to drive it. He didn’t go all that fast, but seemed to be enjoying himself.
The visit was all too short as they needed to make their way back to the Kelso area by nightfall, so we said our goodbyes. Perhaps we’ll see them if we make our way to the Willys Reunion next year.
Many thanks to Glenn Byron for sending me a box of documents to share with everyone. Some of the docs, like the one below, are copies made for Glenn by Dave Antram. So, thanks to Dave as well. This is Volume four, Issue number 1.
Here are a few oddball wood jeeps that I thought might interest folks.
1. These two jeeps were marked down to $65 as of this writing, but that expired yesterday. I suspect if you made an offer near that amount, the seller might accept. View all the information on eBay:
“1948 Willy’s. Great shape for 76 years old. New tires and correct rims. Just rebuilt the shift tower with new springs and bearings. Runs and drives great. Extra windshield glass from Kiser Willy’s. Cash only and local pickup only. I do not need any help selling this. Call Rex at 208-8six1- 4five5six.”
“CJ2a and CJ3B (High Hood) project package for sale. Bill of sale on each only, no title. No body tags or VIN’s on either. The 3B has a flathead engine, 2B has no engine transmission or transfer case. Need gone, make an offer. Pick up only. Bring a trailer big enough for both.”
This is a 1959 or later CJ-3B (Note the side heater vent). Thanks to Andy for sharing it. It may be an optical illusion, but it looks like the top kind of angles down near the rear passenger lower edge. Maybe this is a CJ-3B that used to have a baggage ramp? (Prob not, but …)
“1946 Willy’s Cj runs can start comes with running’ spare four cylinder motor comes with operating six foot meyers plow restore or leave as is and use to plow your property not too many of these left especially on Long Island transferable New York registration”
“For sale…1964 Jeep FC-150 all original, complete and with a clear NC title. It even has the extra weights in rear. I have owned it for over 20 years and has been garage kept. Was last registered in 1984. This was bought new and used by a firehouse in upstate NY for their plowing. It was then bought by a farmer upstate NY and used as his farm vehicle. Then was bought by Manny who had a shop in Queens NY, the name still on DS door and used it to plow his shop that had a small parking lot. He wanted to restore it but never got to it. He switched it from a Generator to an Alternator.
I bought it from Manny when he retired. Its been garage kept ever since. My goal was to restore it but there was others inline ahead. I just sold my Super bee to the TV show Graveyard Cars and it was shown this last episode to lighten my projects. it runs great, it is low mileage. The Doors are rust free, PS window is cracked as in picture. The windshield is in great shape, seats were recovered and comfortable, shifts fine, no smoke, lights work. It does have the common cab rot in the corners as in the pictures, it is 60 years old. It drives but has no brakes, the LF wheel cylinder blew when I drove it outside. I’m not going to fix it but it can be driven onto a trailer. Please only Serious buyers who would appreciate a survivor.”
“1951 Willys Cj3a. Runs and drives, it has a new clutch. It needs front leaf springs. It has nice seats with maybe 2 years on them. $5000 OBO a little rust in the floor”
Roger Martin shared this auction for an FC-170. According to the serial number 10326, this is an early 1957, so the 325th FC-170 produced. As of Wed afternoon, the bid price is $2500.
