“Red in color runs great lots of fun to drive”
Blaine spotted the auction for this nicely refurbed truck. Current bid is $5000.
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1947-willys-truck/
“This 1947 Willys Jeep Truck is a first-year example that was acquired by the seller in 2016 and subsequently refurbished at The Jeep Farm in Waddell, Arizona. The exterior was refinished in Bedford Grey with Challenger Blue accents, and the interior was reupholstered in Pendleton blanket fabric and blue vinyl. The 2.2L Go-Devil inline-four was resealed, and sends power to all four wheels via a three-speed manual transmission and a Spicer transfer case. Work in 2020 included a carburetor service, wiring repairs, coolant flush and some paint work. Approximately 2,350 four-wheel drive Willys Jeep Trucks were made in 1947 and this example is now offered with records, a reprinted owner’s manual, and a clean Arizona title in the name of the seller’s LLC….”
Look solid. Has a few updates. A Sears Deluxed Hardtop is included also.

“1952 Willys Jeep CJ-3a 4X4 Flat Fender L-134
Runs well (for almost 70 years old), drives, safe and legal on streets, good tires, good brakes (for drums), all working gauges (including new fuel gauge and sender, and new speedo), and currently registered until summer 2021. Drive train (3 speed, two or four wheel drive) and engine are mostly original/original restore except converted to 12V with alternator. Original L-134 Willys engine. 4 wheel drive with front locking hubs (hubs not original).
Lots of extras/upgrades including:
> Full 6 point roll cage
> Bikini Top (very good condition)
> Includes Aluminum HARD TOP!!! with doors (needs some work – about 85% complete, missing rear window/hatch, missing one door window and handles, but very hard to find these and it’s a nice extra to have)
> Extended steering box
> Extra front push bar with Extra lights, front grill guard
> Setup for towing, INCLUDES mated tow bar
> External Overflow tank (similar to Desert Cooler)
> Good seats, with seatbelts front and back
> Spare Tire
> “Willys” stamped on both fenders and tailgate
> Horn and turn signals (that only sort of work – I use hand signals)
> New 165 deg thermostat
> Very little time on newer alternator
> Good battery with blade disconnect
Certainly not a “show Jeep”, but was perviously used as a “tow behind” with a motor home for hunting/fishing/around camp transportation.
So Cal car for at least the last 20 years, no structural rust (mild surface rust on some scratches). Drove it roundtrip from Northridge to Simi Valley last week in 90 degree weather.
Can drive or tow home (but remember the top speed is about 50 mph down hill!)
If you want a Willys Jeep, especially for a tow-behind, you should definitely take a look.”
Jeffrey shared the news that this FC-150 just sold via Copart for $7500.

This has some mods. The cowl sides appear stretched and the grille appears pushed forward; probably related to the installed 283.

“New tires, 289 v8. Runs and drives.”

“1950 WILLYS JEEPSTER- NEEDS TO BE RESTORED GOOD CONDITION FOR THE AGE-”
Has some mods. The passenger side rear upper body looks odd at the rim. Maybe it’s just an odd reflection (see last pic).

As I mentioned a couple days ago, I received some Newgren brochures as part of the Jeep Equipment book I received. The brochures are numbered between Form N-160 (below) through Form N-168, with only Form N-167 missing. I cannot see a reason for them to start at N-160, but they do. I also think that there were other brochures from this line of brochures that I do not have. I will published these brochures over the coming days.
This brochure indicate that the Newgren equipment is tailored for the Monroe Hydraulic Lift.
Maury spotted this unusually risqué Matchbook cover from a dealer that sold jeeps and other vehicles.

“1947 Jeep Willys CJ2A
All original
Runs well. Body has been sanded and repainted, engine has been overhauled and has a new clutch. This vehicle is very clean, not pristine but in great shape and runs well. Serious inquiries only please”
UPDATE: **SOLD** for $14,100.
Bill shared this one. The seller claims to not know what this model is, but it has a slat grille and lacks a glove box. It does not have the squared off gas tank. Currently, it’s sitting at $12,100.
“Not a Jeep expert. Found a Ford. So this one goes. Excellent runner. Well maintained. A few small oil leaks. Newly rebuild WW2 transmission. Not sure whatS original and what isn’t. So you will need to ask questions. If your looking for a good runner for re enacting or just cruising around town. This is the Jeep for you.”

(11/07/2019) This looks in good shape. The Koenig hardtop has a useful carrier on the top.

“JUST DROPPED $1000 asking $5500 OBO 1949 Willys Jeep Fresh rebuilt 4 cylinder engine with about 5000 miles. Great hard top by Koenig Iron Works out of Houston TX. Square hardtop which gives the Willys a Range Rover defender look. Aftermarket heater, windshield wipers, etc. Locks up all around. Only vintage Jeep that you have to turn the heater down on. Ramsey 9000 wench. Spare tire can go on the top or the side. The paint and top have great weathered and worn look. Brake lights and turn signals have been raised in the back to view above gas cans. She’s old and slow, but she gets all the looks. .”
No pics just yet, but it might have been built based on some of the plans floating around at the time.

“Get this before it goes to an antique auction. Pictures coming shortly.
This is what I will call a 1/2 size Willys replica, built buy a guy in late 1952 or early 1953 for his young daughter who happens to be our neighbor. Her late husband took it appart and my son is almost done putting it together. It has a Wisconsin pull start motor (apparently from a gasoline operated washer) and it was driven 126 miles (according to the odometer) by the little girls. It was pictured next to the original Willys in the Fall 1953 edition of the Pied Piper of Helena.
My son restored the panels and wood frame but will be seeking a home shortly. Looking for someone who is interested in Korean/WWII memorabilia and in particular kids toys from that vintage. It even has the original tires and seat. He has 5 screws to replace and then it will be back together, looking forward to starting it. A collector will understand the value of a one-on-a kind custom toy like this. Looking for someone willing to make an offer. If interested please reply back with name and phone number. Will provide pictures to interested parties.”
Looks solid. It is missing a few details.

“Clean title 1946 CJ2A with running small block Buick odd-fire V6. Overhauled brakes, new radiator, new alternator, new distributor, new tires and fuel pump. The body has a decent amount of rust and a nice patina but the frame is solid. The steering box recently broke preventing it from driving and still needs replacement but the car still runs well. There is a roll cage included as well as a tow bar which have not been installed. Lastly, the front driveshaft needs to be installed before running 4WD. This would make for a great quarantine project!
Included:
– Willys CJ2A
– Roll cage
– Tow bar
– Front driveshaft and extra rear driveshaft
– New battery (not in pics)“
In the autumn of 1962, the Sun Carnival organization in El Paso, Texas, decided to add the Sun Carnival Jeep Derby, one of only four derby’s held in the US, to it’s late December events calendar (the other ‘derbies’ were held in Las Cruces, Truth or Consequences, and Denver). The grand prize was a brand new 1963 CJ-5 donated by the Willys Manufacturing Company (I think they meant Willys Motors).
Before being presented to the race winner, Carnival manage Bruce Brooks planned to use it by carnival staff to carry tickets between the four branch offices.
Ted C. Brewer of Roswell, New Mexico, went on to win the Inaugural Sun Carnival Jeep Derby.
The next year, the Sun Carnival volunteers put together another course.
