“Nice original 1950 Willys CJ3A Farm Jeep. Jeep has rear pto with shield, novi governor, ag weight. Even has the original head lights. Jeep is not running but engine turns over and transmission/transfer case shift freely. Jeep comes with top bows and seat frame, but monroe lift parts in back are being sold separately.

“FC-170 For Sale. I’m listing this for a friend thats not online. 1964 FC-170 4 x 4 runs and drives, registered and insured. Hurricane 6 cylinder with 3 speed manual shift. Has an overdrive unit but the actuating cable is currently broken. The windshield is in good shape. The driver door glass is cracked. The frame looks clean. The cab has some rust holes but not too bad. It has a nice solid oak bed. My buddy inherited this from his Dad who owned a local Jeep dealership in town back in the day. This thing has been stored inside for the last 40-50 yrs! Comes with a CT bill of Sale. Vintage vehicles like this don’t have titles in CT, located in Canton CT, $15,000 cash.”

“FFrom what I can find out this is a rare USMC 1962 USMC Radio Jeep
Serial # 87509 DoD 8/62
1 of only 500 M38A1 Jeeps made for the Marines in 1962, I don’t know how many Radio Jeeps there were.
This one saw service as a Volunteer Fire Department Vehicle in South Carolina.
Pretty sure it was converted to 12 volts at that time.
Body is Rusty to say the least.
All of the Dash Data Plates are in tack, as well as the Radio instruments and switches.
The good part is that these Jeeps were under coated, so the frame is in really in good condition
And another plus on these Jeeps is that they were ordered with limited slip front and rear differentials.
You will not find that on any other M38A1’s.
That alone is worth the low reserve price.

I was going to post many more updates, but a hay baler breaking down put a stop to that (long story). More updates Sunday morning.
This weekend is the Willys Rally at Heuston Woods. Tom was kind enough to take some pics for us.
I’ve got the driver’s seat ready to mount once the cab is ready. I still need to get some seat belts, so I can add them.
I won’t be needing this FC Vacuum Wiper motor. Anyone need one? I don’t know how well it works (or not), so I would just ask you pay for shipping. It includes the cable and the mounting bolts (not shown). I don’t know how the FC vacuum wiper motor differs from other jeep vacuum motors, if they are different at all.
More progress made, as the passenger seat bracket holes were drilled (studs were rusted) and the stock brackets look appear to fit perfectly.
However the driver’s side holes, due to some previous patches and brittle metal, aren’t visible. So, I am attempting to estimate their location. The rough distance I measured is from the front of the hat channel bracket just behind where the seat posts rest to the seat brackets shown below. The 16 1/4 inches might be a little short. Anyone have the correct measurement for a circa 1960 FC-170?

Original post March 13, 2021: This pic reminds me of the Ghost Army documentary I mentioned back in 2019. The photo below shows a combled-together fake jeep. I’m still hoping to find some better photos of a Ghost Army inflatable jeep. Dummy tank photos are much easier to find. The photo was taken November of 1944 in Wongabel, Queensland, Australia.
