Brendan, who used to run This-old-jeep, posted this 3-part video back in 2010. The video was produced by Willys-Overland to help sell the new CJ-2A. I don’t think I’ve ever seen them.

“Here is a rare vintage, Willys Overland Jeep Jeepster pen and pen stand. The pen and pen stand are in very good condition. The pen does not write. It stands about 10 3/4 inches tall. The base measures about 3 7/16 inches wide, 2 inches deep, and about 2 1/16 inches tall. I am not sure what the base is made of, it is fairly heavy.

“This 1955 M38A1 is an original 24-volt survivor that has always been olive drab. It has 2 brand new 12 volt batteries and 1 brand new 24 volt headlight. Everything works except vacuum windshield wipers, amp. gauge and fuel gauge. Floor heater was never installed. 2 jerry cans and pictured military memorabilia included. previous owner had mild restoration 22 years ago. Clean Illinois title in hand. It has always been stored inside for the last 22 years. I’ve owned for last 12 years. Just reducing my old Jeep collection. Need storage space for another old Jeep project I just have to have.”

“1957 Jeep Forward Control FC-150. Frame of restoration from the first year. Narrow track axles. 6volt electrical system. 4cyl. 3speed. Every item was restored bumper to bumper back to original. Had the lead counterweight in the back. Full leaf pack on rear. This was a painstakingly meticulous restoration. It even has the bag for windshield washer fluid. I have not come across one of these that has a higher quality restoration.”
This auction will be held at 3276 Springs Hill Rd Salisbury Pa (At The Springs Shop) on May 4th. The top and rear cover look custom. At first I thought the windshield was a CJ-3A, but the round arms suggest it may have been a modified 2A or military windshield. The jeep appears to included a plow.

It continues to be a busy month. Yesterday felt like a 2-step-forward, 1-step-back kind of day. The new raised garden is about done, as seen below. Still some details to complete, such as adding some plastic sheets at each corner of the raised beds, because, as it turns out, the corrugated sides create gaps at the corners, which allows dirt to fall onto the ground. So, we will need to dig up each corner and add some plastic sheets to stop that. Once we get all the plants in and gravel laid, I’ll take some final pics.
Yesterday morning I spent some time working on the FC. My goal had been to create the cover plate for the mini-gauges and power switch that will sit on the angled area of the dog house.
I cut a raw piece of 14 gauge steel, rounded the edges (not shown), then, to test the size and look, placed the plate on the dog house. That’s when I noticed the plate didn’t lay flat. After testing some flat edges, I eventually concluded that there’s a slight twist in the dog house at the very spot I want to put the gauges. It’s not undoable, but I’d rather the plate sat flat (passenger side is flat).
This pic shows the angle. You can see the slope increase as the angled portion moves to the front.
That problem led to me removing the driver’s seat (for the first time) so I could better evaluate my options.
I eventually concluded that it will take some clamps and braces to straighten it (if even possible). Since i didn’t feel like tackling that project right now, I turned to the driver’s seat.
First, I installed an original driver’s seat just to see how it fits vis-a-vis the steering wheel, which proved to be a comfortable angle (whew).
I removed the seat, then pondered the areas where the seat originally mounted. It was immediately clear that the original driver’s side seat mount areas had been patched and welded. My guess is that the area had been fatigued over the years. In addition, a portion of one seat mount bolt remained in it’s original hole, while the other mount area holes had been filled entirely. “Nice original Willy’s , this M38 belonged to the Bowman field civil air patrol until about 1983 , all new correct brakes , hoses and lines , still 24 volt but has been converted to an alternator , radiator rebuilt , water pump , runs and drives good . Body is very good original condition .”

“The time has come for me to sell my 1946 CJ2(ish) little beast. It’s sporting a Buick 198 fireball, t90, bobcat hood, Cadillac telescopic column, rather beat up 64 corvette seats, full set of Desert Dogs, ect ect. The top is pretty beat up but keeps the weather out about as well as you could hope. All and all a great example of a classic PNW jeep. It runs and drives but could certainly use a tune up as I’ve not been driving it much at all (hence the sale) Mainly looking for cash but could be open to trades for a newer jeep that would be more daily driver friendly”

“1973 Jeep CJ5 * Does not run * Jeep was parked in my garage and has not been started for 25 years. Ran great when parked, but over time fuel lines cracked. Was going to restore it, but never got around to it. Fuel tank was pulled years ago. Engine wiring needs to be repaired/replaced I purchased the Jeep in 1987. Engine, transmission and transfer box were all professionally rebuilt in the mid 90s. Never put more than 20k miles on them, after rebuild. TJ found this nice looking L-161 for sale. Though it is picture with a tranny, tc, and OD, it sounds like only the bell housing goes with the engine.

“Running L-161 flathead engine. I believe it’s from a 1951 Jeepster. It has been reliable, runs well and doesn’t smoke. It’s bolted to a T90 and that bell housing will go with the engine. I will be keeping the starter and alternator, but everything else goes with it. The exhaust manifold has either been modified or repaired at the pipe flange, I can’t tell what the purpose was, but it bolts up to my CJ2a. It’s still in the Jeep and I can show it running. I’ll pull it when I have a buyer. $900 obo or trade for a running L134.”
