“For Sale: 1949 Willys Jeep CJ3A. $25,000.XX. (Twenty Five Thousand dollars). This is an all original Willys that was meticulously restored over the course of 2 years by myself. It was a frame off restoration down to every last nut and bolt. There is no bondo or fiberglass or rust on this baby. Everything works perfectly as it was originally designed to work and operate. The engine was completely rebuilt, the transfer case, the clutch all rebuilt.
The electrical harness was replaced with a new exact duplicate. The exhaust is an exact duplicate of the original custom made in stainless steel. The original carburetor was rebuilt and it starts on the coldest of winter days with the original 6 volt electrical system. The battery sits in its proper location in a case that looks like a vintage battery but actually contains a modern jell cell battery; one of the only minor alterations to the original. The battery has a turn disconnect on the cable so that when not in use I leave it hooked up to a 6 volt drip charge.

“Restored by previous owner and running prior to being garaged a few years ago. Flat head 4 cylinder. Fender is off, but included. Needs new starter which was purchased, but has a different configuration so we did not install. This is an inherited car and we believe the fender was removed to work on the starter. “To many projects and with a third baby on the way I won’t be getting to all of them. Selling my 1952 Jeep Willys CJ3A. This Willys originally had a factory option Jeep-a-trench trencher (which has since been removed) on the back, so the Jeep still has the factory rear PTO. Has the T-90 3 speed manual transmission and the Dana Spicer model 18 transfer case. 4 cylinder F head Hurricane 134 ci engine. I have never had it running. Has factory half soft top and soft doors. Jeep has been in my shed for over 12 years. Have title and much of the original paperwork on it. Was in a shed when I got it and has continued to be. Little to no rust. Perfect for winter restoration project..”

“All original 1951 Willys CJ3a. Current California registration through June 2019. 6 Volt electrical system with keyed ignition and floor foot starter. Ramsey X200 R PTO winch. The person I bought the jeep from in 2009 said the winch worked but I’ve never tried it. Since I’ve owned the jeep, I’ve had the water pump rebuilt the radiator boiled out/tested and replaced the thermostat. I’ve replaced the fuel sending unit and now have a functioning fuel gauge. All gauges work. Front passenger mounted heater works.
No windshield wipers nor do they work. No bikini top but i do have a set of brackets but they are not original. The tires should have been replaced 20 or 30 years ago. Drivers rear tire will loose air but it takes a few weeks before it gets flat. All others hold air. This is a running Willys CJ3a but it I only feel comfortable going about 35 mph. You’ll need a trailer to get it home. It has a tow bar that accepts a 2 inch ball hitch but i’ve never used it. Again, you’ll need a trailer to get it home. I replaced the battery last month and it starts right up.”

“his CJ-3A, affectionately known as “Scout,” was born in 1950. Having spent the majority of its life on a mountain property in Mariposa, CA; this Willys Jeep has always been 100% free from any rot, cancer, or structural rust.
After a lengthy search for the right era-stock 3A, in 2012 I purchased Scout from its second California owner. Shortly thereafter, I found another unit that had a freshly rebuilt drivetrain (less than 20 hours), so I purchased it too and combined our solid rust-free Scout with the fresh heart and axles of the donor.
As I have a hard time leaving well enough alone, your new Willys will come with $10,723.51 in parts receipts, including the new “Herm the Overdrive Guy” 30% overdrive! Yes, everything works as designed. Every gauge, headlight, taillight, and parking light; even the factory high beam indicator and map light glow proudly on the dash. The transmission and transfer case shift with a positive engagement rarely found in Jeeps of this era. The engine starts right up, hot or cold, and purrs like a kitten at 180 degrees; always. The custom receiver hitch is ready to haul your boat to the pond. And if worse comes to worse, the Bellview/Warn winch powered by a custom 6/12v battery system stands at the ready.

This has a Rear PTO, governor, Allstate(?) Hubs, Koenig(?) hardtop, and appears in good shape.
“Selling for my friend. This is a Willys CJ3A 4×4 Jeep. He is the 2nd owner, bought it in 1970. Vehicle has been always stored indoors and has been regularly maintained by the owner. It has newer tires. an upgraded front end with M38 parts. Only 21,300 miles, never abused. has rear PTO and comes with the large pully to run the belt driven farm equipment, it still has the leather liner on it! has the governor and pully for the engine. Comes with the hard top and doors.”

“Selling For my father in-law, He has owned it since the late 70’s. Still has the old flathead 4 in it that runs as you can see by the fan in the motor pic. All factory except for the turn signals. Those were added by previous owner. It comes with a Warren over drive, factory installed. New Tires, brakes all the way around a few years ago, along new front knuckles as well. Fuel pump and water pump replaced to get it running again. Does need restoration, but is solid. Comes with new set of plug and wires. Not used much, carb needs cleaned I suspect, have to choke a bit to keep it idling. Valid title as well. Less”

“1952 Willys CJ3A Jeep, runs and drives and is a blast! It is all original plus a few upgrades. It has had a complete tuneup and runs awesome. It has had all of the fluids changed, has 5 new old-school mud tires, new best top, new seat covers and seat belts, cb radio, warn 8274 winch, and LED offroad lights and upgraded Saginaw steering with new tie rods. It also has a vintage warn overdrive unit. The body is completely rust free and in great shape. It a a couple of dents and dings but is in amazing shape for being 60 years old. It’s slow but will take you anywhere you want to go. Selling due to needing something more family friendly. Clean and clear Idaho title in my name.”

(08/16/2017) Engine needs some work. Appears to have a Koenig top.
“This jeep has a full Koenig cab. The engine needs an overhaul including valve and ring jobs. The clutch has less than 50 miles on it.

“I am on the fence about posting my favorite vehicle ever…….but its time for me to move on to other things. She’s still running a 6-volt generator system, she has the original style flat head 4 cylinder, T-90 transmission, Dana 18 transfer case with an overdrive, and I also have a pto to go with her just the gear box that attaches to the transfer case and a original style top bows and door frames.
