Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Year: 1946 Make: Jeep Model: Willys 1946 Cj-2a frame and drive train with a 1952 Dj tub. Engine will run but it needs a starter and generator rebuild beforehand. Frame has some rot on the inside. Tub has rust holes and body mounts are mostly gone.”

“350 Chevy powered classic flat fender. Muncie SM420 4 speed transmission (granny low,) Spicer 18 transfer case, full width Dana 44 axles with air lockers front and rear, onboard air, forged aluminum wheels (incl spare), one piece hood and fenders for much easier engine access. Those are the big upgrades, but there are lots of others – too many to list. The front seats are shabby, but I have a set of good condition, cloth seats from an early model 4runner (the ones that had a physical therapist on the design team – wayyyy better than the Ricaros.) Also have a spare SM420 (no, I don’t want to sell it separately) and a full cloth top. As you can see, the paint needs some help. The floor pan has all been replaced with heavier gauge sheet metal, but it’s also due for fresh paint. Runs strong, but could use a carb expert to get it dialed. Had to move in with elderly parent and don’t have room or time for all the toys, so it has to go. The best way to get in touch is to email me your phone number. Offers from people who have not come to take a look in person will be ignored. Clean CA title in hand”

“A classic Willys Jeep CJ2A. (it is not a Gladiator but there wasn’t a Willys option). Drives very well for a 75 year old. Good power, steers and brakes excellent. Sounds like the Jeeps on MASH. Very original. Have the parts list from the rebuild 20 years ago. Tires are in good condition but they are original from the rebuild in 2001. A great parade vehicle for the summer holidays. On the downside, there is a battery charging issue. I keep it on a battery maintainer and sometimes if you are going downhill and turning to the left, it will pop out of 2nd gear. If you are holding the shifter, it stays in gear without issue. Clear title. Lots of fun and a real head turner.”

“Flexible on price open to trades. Small block Chevy mounted to t90 trans (no clutch in currently), Dana 20 tcase, new frame horns (18”), plated frame from bumper to firewall w/ 1/4” steel. Unfinished project don’t have the time right now. Registration was just paid. I have a good bit of parts for it.”
While the price does include tools (such as a parts washer), the price still seems high for a project. Maybe there are many more tools than listed.

“1947 Jeep Willys Restore/Rebuild Project Parts, tools, lots of extras pieces, guides, etc. Frame was completely rebuilt, motor was next on list to rebuild. Comes with parts washer, tools, jacks, engine stand, and whatever else in the garage that would help you. Jeep was never titled according to precious owner who bought it from the Army. “I’m burned out on this project and want to sell. This CJ2A came out of West Tennessee and has had the frame and body repainted and the rust patched. There is some surface rust bleeding through the paint as you can see in the photos on the body.
Engine is a L-134, rebuilt by the military at some point Transmission is a Ford T18 Transfer case is the original Dana 18 Front axle Dana 25 Rear axle Dana 41
Disc brakes are on all four wheels. 7.00×16 NDT tires with excellent tread
All the parts are here to complete it.

“Willys cj2a or 3a repowered with buick dauntless v6. Runs and drives. 4×4 works. Dualamatic locking hubs. Heated cab. Plow works. Be a good build project. Have extra parts available.”

“This is a stunning 1948 Willy’s Jeep that has been carefully restored to be a perfect piece for a collector or a Jeep lover who wants a piece of American History. Purchased with plans to drive as a summer toy, plans have changed and need to find this beauty a great home. Vehicle displays 66,705 miles. Vehicle has been restored and includes many original components, including the engine, transmission, bridge frame, gauges, etc.
Was repainted in a satin fire red color and is a real head turner both on and off the road. As you can see from the pictures, all restoration components were carefully selected to be vintage OEM pieces and the work was done to keep the vintage feel of the era. The jeep includes 1/2 doors with canvas uppers (not pictured) and a full canvas top (as shown).
This ought to be good for tackling desert and mountain trails in the PNW.
