“1960’s era Jeep FC-150 (Forward Control) restoration project or parts vehicle. 4cyl OHV, manual trans, hydraulic dump, aux hydraulics, plow mount, single wheel rear axle, many parts interchange with FC 170’s. I can transport vehicle within a 50 mile radius for a small fee. I also have a 1983 Jeep CJ-7 with a small block Chevy 350, 4spd manual trans, hardtop, plow mount, in “need” of restoration or good parts vehicle. Both vehicles ran and are complete, though in “need” of restoration.
There’s dents and some rust. Interestingly, despite the increase in flatties, Forward Controls continue to be difficult to find.
“I have a 1957 FC-150 Willys Jeep. New tires with spacers, new carburator, bed has been resently sand blasted and powder coated. Vehicle runs is driveable but need some work. New fuel pum, shocks, brakes comes with some extra parts.Price not set in stone, pictures available. Engine cover in bed of truck to show original engine.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay. It’s got a low starting bid. Check out the video, but be patient as it took a while to load.
“1960 WILLY’S JEEP F150 FORWARD CONTROL 4WD. Perfect for restoration this jeep was in use until 1996. Odometer reads 24,766. When I acquired this truck a few months ago it ran great for a few days, would start right up, plenty of power and very little smoke. Then it died and before I realized the fuel pump diaphragm went I messed around with the carb. Here is a link to a 11 mg video of the Jeep in great running condition that you can download with my 12 year old son running it through our back field.”
My guess is that this is a modified FC 150? No doubt it’s rare! Maybe It’s the perfect vehicle for that FC collector who has it all. It sounds as if it runs, but the owner doesn’t have a key?
“Unique vehicle. May be custom built. was told that the running gear was from a 1953 Willys. The seats are from a Volkswagen. The front windshield is movable. Has tow bar attached to the front. 6 volt battery system. Has a swivel arm on the back. 2 front seats. 4 wheel drive. Purchased it with my property and don’t know if it runs. Has never been registered. don’t have a key. The original owner was a hunter and did use this vehicle. Price $ 2495.00 or best offer.”
It looks like there’s some typical rust around the bottom of the door. Otherwise, looks good.
“1961 FORWARD CAB, 6CLY, 3SPD, 4X4. RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT! EXCELLENT WORKHORSE! SET UP FOR 9FT FLAT BED/ STAKE BED/ OR UTILITY BOX. NEEDS PAINT & GLASS. CALL DAVE @ 720-297-7028”
“This is one of jeep’s stranger creatures to be sure. it has 4 wheel drive with lockouts, a p.t.o. to power a cylinder which lifts the flatbed, very heavy leaf springs and 5.38 gearing in the diffs. drivetrain is a 6 cylinder flathead that runs good . tranny is a 3 speed manual this truck needs wood for the bed and various other details to be driven. truck has a good title .”
This FC appears to be in pretty good condition, just the paint is a little faded.
“1962 Willys Jeep FC 170 DRW 1 Ton Truck. Original Title. Ask about propane conversion unit.”
Looks like there’s the typical door rust. However, it’s running and there is extra parts.
“This Truck is a 1959 Willy’s Jeep (Mileage unknown )it runs Good and has lots of extras that will go with it, Extra frame, Motor, Drive-train all in Good condition as well I assume although have never had time to rebuild. everything was bought with the intention of using as extra parts and the Jeep wont die.”
This appears in great shape.

“Last time on this one. Antique jeep fc 170 very nearly complete. Taking the torch to it very soon.$500. o.b.o.”
UPDATE: This sold. Thanks Alan!
The ad says this is a must look, however it still looks rusty at the edges to me.
“1961 FC 170 Jeep MUST LOOK 1961 FC 170 JEEP. GREAT JEEP! CURRENT NON OP 6 WHEEL DRIVE. 4 SPEED TRANS. 283 SMALL BLOCK ENGINE. 70-LIMITED SLIP. SPICIER REAR END. FLAT BED. $2,500 AS IS OBO.”
This is one of the cheaper FC’s I’ve seen — It’s a project.
“No title, needs lots of work. No transmission or transfercase. Engine does not run. These are rare. Will trade for guns, gas station items or other interesting items.”
This started out at $3500, but the price has dropped to $2500. There’s definitately some rust on this one.
“Early 60’s foreward control Jeep.Been in a barn for 5 years. Got it started and drove it around. Engine is great, trans and transfer work ok. Brakes need bled but work. Driver and passenger floorboards need repair, but usable.Rear cab corners rusted but small enough to repair with fibreglass i think. Beds rusty and there is surface rust.Great ranch vehicles with very little wwork. Last one I saw for sale on e bay that was similar to this they were asking $3500 and it didn’t run. Asking $3500, but will listen to offers. Wife wants it gone. e mail or call Wes 541-504-7158”
That’s a great looking FC-170.
“Take a good look at the pics !! I encourage any serious buyer to come and inspect in Person ! This is a very solid FC 170 it has some rust, but nothing compared to what most of these look like at this age. Cab is very sold as is the frame. There is a alum.plate patch under the carpet on the drivers side. Pass. side is solid with some pin holes. Battery box compartment very solid. Under carriage and frame very solid with just minor surface rust. All doors open and close very straight, they do not drop on there hinges.”
I've got a friend in California that has an old firetruck he would drive to work every so often. I always thought that would be fun, but I think this firetruck would be even cooler.
"1959 Willys Jeep FC170 Forward Control fire truck. Runs good – may need some brake maintenance. 7,200 actual miles. Manual Transmission. ALL ORIGINAL! This vehicle has not been stripped. It is 100% original – even the windshield wipers! Includes Fire Extinguishers and fire blanket canister (with original fire blanket inside). Even the lights and siren are working! The headliner is begining to come down and the interior needs some work. There are no dents on the exterior. The vehicle has only been driven in local parades for the past several years."
UPDATE: the price dropped to $1450
This FC looks like a great project for someone.
"This is an original FC 150 (Forward Control). This is mostly complete and restorable. Original motor turns over but has very low compression in two cylinders. Includes a Manual and sales brochure. Great little off road/hunting vehicle. Wierd at first to drive because you are sitting on the front wheels. Frame/chasis is the standard 1952 jeep. I started this as a project but am unable to complete. Easy to work on. I have a car trailer and can deliver if you cover the gas. Dewey 253-670-1046 pr dewey@windermere.com"
I bought this recently as a project but have found that I have too many home projects to work on it. I bought it from Schaffers Towing in Cd’A. They got it to fire up for a moment and when I brought it home I put a little gas down the carburator and got it to fire momentarily. It turns over nicely now but doesn’t seem to be getting spark…???
The brakes are disconnected and the fuel tank is there but the fuel line runnung up to it is disconnected.
I was told that the motor in it is called a “Hurricane Four” and it has a “Spicer” gear box.
It has some rust and is missing the bed. I have seen some of these with flatbeds.
” 1963 FC 170 Jeep. Classic Jeep / needs a home. 1963 Forward Control 170 Jeep vin: # 6156813208 motor turns over but has not been started for a long time. Stored In a barn since 1982. 12 ft. bed / made for hauling fruit box, side rails are 18″ high and hinge down. Some rust on the doors and windows dash is stock and the whole truck is complete. Tires are bad, the rear duels are a factory option and can be singles. $800 or make an offer / possible partial trade for clean economy sedan or ? Trade for a nice CJ7 Hard Top.”
The term ‘rare’ accompanies a variety of FC-150/170s.
“This extremely rare 1963 Jeep Willys FC-170 4X4 is both a stake bed pick up and a hydraulic dump bed. The trucks prior owner was into these vehicles in a big way and kept his eyes open for the right FC to purchase for over 15 years. He acquired this truck from the original owner and had it for another 15 years until illness forced the sale. The prior owner advertised this as “Very Complete & Original all the way down to the Windshield Washer Bag that hangs on the dashboard.”
“Willys Forward Control Jeep pickup. Body complete but in fair condition. Frame good. Not running but complete “
Someone has cared for this FC.
“This is a nice “59” Willys Jeep FC-150, It runs and looks good, I have more pic. just e-mail me. Asking 6,500. Feel free to e-mail offers and questions.”
