Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. UPDATE: Price bumped to $7000. I’ve tried to locate another example of this kit car, but couldn’t. Some of these kit cars only sold a handful of products. For example, only four models of the VWeep (which doesn’t look much like a jeep) were produced.

Sold by Growler Manufacturing and Engineering in the early 00s, this 4×4 tactical vehicle was designed atop a new M-151A2 chassis and sold, at least for a while, in kit form. You can view an old version of the website from 2001 via Archive.org: Carolina Growler.

“Empire Tractor Model 90 S/N 5607 frame off restoration. The Tractor was in the Vintage Tractor Digest magazine spring 2018 plus it’s on the cover of magazine.
Sandblasted, primed and painted with urethane automotive paint. Complete engine re-build done by a motor shop. The head and flywheel resurfaced and installed a new clutch. New brakes, gas tank, radiator, tool box, wiring harness, governor control, exhaust system, gauges.
