Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Maury and I thought this jeep bank was interesting. It is a Willys-Motors-parts-department-themed wagon that is listed as a ‘1953’. It was sold on eBay and now documented at WorthPoint. Anyone seen others of these?

“1940’s AL-Toy cast aluminum Willys CJ2A Jeep by the Toledo Casting in great shape.
According to CJ3b.info these were given away to Willys-Overland executives from 1945-1949, some given away as promotional models.”

Thought used, this still looks fun for kids. It’s not quite stock anymore, as a bell is installed on the front bumper (sometimes an “H” is on the hood, other times a bell); the front bumper (bumper isn’t stock either). This appears to be missing the hose and ladder as well. There is more about Fire Jeep toys on the CJ-3B Page.

I would have been 11 when this jeep and glider set was released by Matchbox. I don’t remember seeing this combo in my 1976 Christmas Sears Wish Book. I’m feeling a bit cheated!

Adrian provided some details on a 1/3 scale jeep model he built from Toylander plans. He bought the plans in 2008.

The jeep now pictured on the Toylander website appears to be an improved version, as Toylander’s MB43 looks like it is more jeep-like. Prices vary depending on how complete you want the jeep to be.

“Post-WW2 West Craft (Al-Toy) heavy cast aluminum toys are incredibly rare and valuable. Parts are impossible to find. I bought these 1-3/4” wheels, but actually need just two size 2’-1/2” plus an axle. They are for a standard Willy’s Jeep.”

This plastic toy is priced at $25. This is the closest toy I’ve seen to a CJ-2 (grille, windshield, mid-mounted tire, tailgate, no glovebox.

Frank shared these pics of toys his neighbor gave him. Anyone familiar with either?
The first toy is an odd one. The rabbit in the bubble spins as the jeep moves.
The second toy is a puzzle, as it’s in a CJ-2A box, so he’s not sure if this toy had it’s own box and the neighbor got confused or if it came in the 2A box. With all the nice details, one would expect the base would be correct, too.

Jarek wrote an article about these for the CJ-3B page; some painted ‘gold’ were given to employees. The hood opens and the windshield folds down.
“RARE 1955 to 1962 Willys Kaiser Jeep CJ5 promo model in 1/25 scale. Well scaled with fold-down windshield and opening hood.Has the famous Jeep Hurricane engine. Missing steering wheel. All tires are good including the side-mount spare tire. Overall,not perfect but very nice. Displays well.”

This toy is about 8″ long. Seller thinks it might be a Kempro Kit toy.
“Here is a nice sturdy toy car. Unknown maker. Quite possibly was a Kempro Co kit.
It is well made, and has been played with. I love Jeeps and have had a few. This sat on my desk at the shop. Unpacking some boxes the other day, I came across it again.
It shows some signs of age, but otherwise is in very good condition. Nice hardwoods used. ”
