“1954 CJ3B Jeep. This jeep was in a barn for 15 years when the last owner got it.
Bill of Sale. NO PAYPAL MUST PICK UP PERSONALLY”
Listed as a ’46, it looks like a 3A.
“Titled as a 1946 but has a later Fhead engine, later windshield frame so who knows. Was bought as part of a package deal in order to get a CJ3B. The engine sounds pretty good, the gas is really old so smokes a little, newer exhaust, new plugs, wires, filters, oil change etc. Has no rust, has good brakes, has a Saginaw steering box, runs and drives well but needs some “tinkering” Would be a good hunting Jeep. restore or leave as is… cash is king…;”
Has some mods.
“This is (as registered) a 1951 Jeep Willys CJ-2a 4×4. It has a buick V6, 3spd tran, dana 25 and dana 27 running gear. I put a new wiring harness, gauges, LED brake and turn lights, new seat coverings and a por-15 paint job. Included is the tire carrier, spare tire, two gas cans, all spare parts and paint and the rifle rack in the middle. This jeep was used for hunting and is extremely reliable but it also looks good to drive into town. It is currently registered (Nov 2015). You can either drive it home (45-50 mph and a 5 gallon gas tank) or tow it home behind your tow vehicle.
I have seen the other Willys for sale on Craigslist and know that the $3600 for a fully running, registered and reliable Willys is priced to sell. Cash only, no shipping, no trades.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2000
This project has updated running gear.
“I have a 1948 Willy’s project Jeep for sale. clean title. I started this project a while back and after a lay off I hate to see it sitting along side the shed. I put 1970 jeep front and rear end underneath it. the body is all ready primed . I have a 4.3 throttle body engine that needs to be rebuilt, four speed transmission and transfer case with all the adapters needed to put it together, new motor mounts, new headers and brand new gas tank for under the drives side seat. ”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1200
May have some value in parts.
“Very rare combination! 1958 fc170 straight 6 4wd straight shift w/PTO drive and Ramsey 8000 winch. Body seems no good very rusted but chassis has a lot of potential. Does not run. Great winter project. Obo will consider trades”
UPDATE: Still Available
(10/17/2014) This has military fenders and a military looking body (including indents and glovebox), but a CJ-3B cowl and hood.
“I am posting this for my friend ( yes you will be able to talk to him and title is in his name), it runs and we think it is the original motor, pretty basic jeep to restore or make into a hunting /off road rig. Been sitting in his yard so will need new rubber hoses/ tires but NO pack rat damage. Serious inquiries only.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2400
Runs, but has an odd windshield.

“”BARN FIND” 1950? 1951? or 1952? US ARMY M38 Willys, this M38 can be restored and/or updated for trail use. Was not able to locate any data plates and/or serial number. The original engine was removed and replaced with a Ford straight six and as a result a portion of the fire wall was removed. Has original tub, fenders, tail gate, transfer case, axles, frame, transmission, and hood.
Gauges do not work, wiring in poor condition. Driver side floor requires patch and repair, right side floor and cargo floors in fair condition.
The jeep does start and can be driven but, will require time and effort to make it roadworthy. If you are looking for a M38 Jeep for parts or restore, this might be just for you. The M38 has the strongest flat fender frame, T90 transmission, and Dana 44 rear axle.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5000
This project is listed as a 1942, but any parts aren’t military.
“selling my 42 gpw.still has many script f parts.i bought this 10 years ago with plans of making it run one day, made some progress but needs an owner with more time to give than i have. has a .030 over 350 engine thats never been fired. a t150 from a 79 cj5, spicer 18 transfer case(big hole) not sure what year, original dana 27 front axle, a 1949 dana 44 with track lock, 4.88 gears. the title says its 1945 and a goofy aluminum tag is attached to the fire wall that matches title. however the real vin # gpw——- stamped on the frame tells me it was born in 1942. i have no record where it served during the war. call or text for more info.”
Note the rear wheels. One is a NDT and the other is a terra tire, lol.
“This baby needs a good home. She needs a lot of care.
Local cash sale only.”
UPDATE: Still Available
This 3B looks ready for the hills.
“Willy CJ3B Vin 454GB236847 Asking price $17,000.00
Engine original 4cycle “F” head
The ultimate 1950’s adventure package with all the vintage aftermarket additions; Sears aluminum cab, Braden power take-off winch with half inch cable, Warren hubs, 2nd gas tank under the passengers seat, and block heater. Includes a Bantam Trailer Corp. munitions type trailer, originally designed with the same wheels and rims to pair with the CJ. This trailer has a fabricated aluminum covered top. There are a total of 8 original rims with vintage bias-ply tube tires in great condition. Other additions include removable rear seat, handy man jack, CB radio set (with 12 to 6 volt converter), spotlight, conventional AM radio, vintage metal ice chest, and 7 vintage metal jerry cans. The vehicle spent more than fifty of it’s years living in the comfort of a garage. The upholstery is in great shape but the foam liner on the inside of cab has deteriorated.
The engine was rebuilt in 1963 by a precision motor shop in Denver where it had the crankshaft plated in hard chrome, all the moving parts were matched and balanced. In 1979 both the front and rear axles were fitted with positraction differentials. The original spider gear parts are still in good shape and included with jeep. A full set of chains is also included. The performance of The Little Red Jeep with positraction and chains in difficult situations is very impressive.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7500
(01/28/2014) It looks like this CJ-2A has a WWII body of some type.
“Willy’s Army Jeep. Runs great. Good condition … new tires and top. Towing bar.”
There are multiple ads across the country for a 1953 M-38A1 for only $3000. This too-good-to-be-true offer is made using a gmail address that is also selling other vehicles across the country. It looks like a scammer to me.
Here’s the ad:
