“I’m selling my 1953 Willy’s jeep, body and drive train are on outstanding condition. The only problem with the Willy’s is that it needs a motor rebuild. Comes with two motors, two trans, two tranfercases. I payed 6,000 for the jeep, taking 2,000 off for the seized motor. Great deal! Please only respond if truly interested. I bought the xtra motor to fix this one. The trans and transfercase are exra. The reason for the engine problems was the oil pick up was clogged and I seized a rod to crank. I do not want to get rid of the beautiful pice of American history but my family come first. Please call me at 9896154327.”

It looks like it’s been sitting a while.
“I believe this is a 1953 CJ3A. Been sitting for 10 years or so, was running when parked. Tub rotted out. Frame still very solid. Tires and wheels rotted, don’t think they will hold air. Parts or restore.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was listed at $700.
And the steering wheel is held on how? That aside, this appears worth a look.

I have a few updates ready for Saturday morning. I’ll be doing some more around noon today.
The August 03, 1942, issue of Life Magazine has an article about Transport Planes. The article includes photos of some GPWs. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t want to be wedged in there next to the jeep during a bumpy flight!
You can see the entire article at Google Books
I’ve never seen a puzzle key chain like this in the form of a jeep.
Here’s a neat postcard of a flying army jeep by illustrator Reg Manning from 1943.
“This listing is for a vintage humorous military post card, by artist Reg Manning, Travelcard No. 27 . The card is unused, a linen card stating it is a genuine Curteich-Chicago Postcard, distributed by Lollessard Specialty Co. of Tuczon Arizona.”
Paul found this unique snow cat made from Kaiser parts. It appears to me to be a CJ-5 body with hardtop combined with a custom FC-looking cowl (with some buck teeth as a grille). There were only two KT-4G models made.
According to the Kristi Snowcat website, “This new vehicle, named the KT-4G, was designed with the aim to reduce costs by maximizing use of standard automotive parts. Kaiser Jeep supplied the CJ-series universal frame and body, while power was delivered by a Chevrolet 6-cylinder engine mated to a Clark four-speed transmission and steering differential. The new Chevrolet engine was water-cooled, allowing for a car-like heating system.”
UPDATE: Roberto notes that this painting is for sale: 220 Euros. Email him
at robflores@robertoflores.com for more info.
Roberto Flores posted his lasted MB illustration to Facebook. Kids and jeep seem a natural combination.
Merlin posted a follow up article at Hanson Mechanical about the 2013 Mason Dixon Show. You can read part I here.
Hugo in Uruguay spotted this video. Like peanut butter and jelly, ying and yang, Fred and Ginger, Sausages and toy jeeps are a natural fit, right? Well, if you didn’t believe it before, check out this ad that celebrates 100 years of Ottonello sausages. The toy jeep appears at the 15 second mark. After viewing the video, Hugo suddenly remembered that he’d owned a red toy jeep when he was a kid.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $500.
Here’s an odd go kart.
“i have a small jeep about 4 ft wide and 6 ft long for sale has a honda motor runs good 500.00”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.
(01/08/2013) The seller indicates this needs some work. I wonder if that’s a fiberglass body.
“1949 cj 3a. New tires, brakes soft top etc…. Has sticker and I drive it six days a week to work. The price reflects the condition… needs some work but as stated, road worthy and dependable”
