1961 FC-150 Woodstock, IL eBay

• CATEGORIES: FC150-FC170-M677 This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Cal forwarded this running CJ-2A.

“1961 Willys Jeep FC-150 Forward Control four-wheel-drive pickup. Actual total mileage is unknown.
It starts and runs good, drives good and stops good.
The original pickup bed was rusted, so it was removed and a wood bed installed. Oak front bumper.
The bottom of the cab is very rusted, with several rust-through areas.
The engine is not the original F-head engine; it has been replaced with a flat-head Jeep engine.
However, included with the vehicle is another Willys Jeep F-head engine (not stuck, but needing overhauled),
and also many additional F-head engine parts (see photos).
Clear title. Not presently licensed for the road, just used around the farm.
Shop Manual and Owners Manual are also included.
Feel free to ask any questions you may have.
Vehicle is located near Woodstock, Illinois. If you are in the area, you can come and see it and test drive it.”

This is a mix of MB/GPW parts and CJ-2A.

“I have basically a complete 1946 CJ2A that is completely disassembled. I restored a 1943 GPW for a guy and have this parts Jeep leftover. Almost everything is there, but it is a major project or parts for your project. Have an Iowa title, but can not find a VIN on the frame. Usually not a problem with these older Jeeps.”

(05/16/2013) It’s a little beat up and doesn’t run.

“I bought this with the intention of restoring it, but I have to many projects and something needs to go,so this is it…..This is a rare 1942 Ford Script Jeep…Has the Ford Script on the back of the body…These are some of the ones that bring top dollar once restored….Still has the original Data Plates with serial number 14976 with a Delivery date of 4-8-1942…….I believe to have been overhauled by the Military back in the 1960’s……The body has had some modifications over the last 70 plus years, but the body is not a total loss,it will however require alot of panel replacment and or welding….Frame is in good shape no major damage or rust….Has a set of seat frames and the original windshield…..Engine does not run…I have an original GPW motor that I will exchange for the one that is installed in the Jeep now…..it will need a complete restoration, but it will be worth the investment….I have a clear Oklahoma Title……I am asking $2800.00 Dollars or make a fair offer.CASH ONLY”

UPDATE: Fixed the link. Thanks Glenn.

Dan wasn’t sure if this was a Traveler or a Parkway, but it sure looks good. It also has a government plate on the dash.

“A true classic!  It’s been in the family for almost 50 years, and now it needs a good home.  Between 1999 and 2000 I spent over $25,000.00 on improvements, including New Goodwrench 350, transmission and transfer case replacement, performance radiator, front and rear axles,  odometer and speedo, and much more.  Since I’ve only put about 2500 miles on it in the last 12 years, it’s time to let it go.  I have all documentation.  Also, a PTO  with winch.  Runs and drives great!  Tires were new as well, but they have become quite weather checked, and should be replaced.  Buyer responsible for shipping.”

This is a project. It looks like the frame and running gear are post 1972 CJ-5.

“Project vehicle. Does not run. I’ll never get to this project. Was thinking I would find a running cj5 and swap this body onto it since the current frame has been cut/welded, etc. The body has been cut and welded a fair amount too on the floor pans/firewall/etc. Nice top and very little surface rust!

CJ5 frame, axles, Dauntless v6 engine with Willys CJ2A or CJ3A body.
Reply by e-mail if interested. I check e-mail in the evenings.
Would consider trading for a complete running LS1 or LS2 or possibly a rebuilt Inline 250/292”

Tranny and Engine are out

• CATEGORIES: Biscuit This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

After repairing a few more sonny-do-items around my parents’ house, I got a chance to pull the engine, transmission, and transfercase. As usual, a variety of expletives bounced off the less-than hallowed walls of the garage.

During the removal process I discovered that power steering box moves some when turning to the right. I *thought* it was a good idea to use the stock ’73 CJ-5 mounting unit to mount the steering, since I would have thought Jeep’s engineers would have been able to get that right, but it seems my place was misplaced. So, part of the rebuild process will be improving the mounting bracket.

On a side note, my father was busily managing the process from the kitchen. Everytime I went in the house he’d ask, “Is your transmission an automatic.”
“Yes, I’d say, but I’m changing to a T-18.”
“You know,” he’d say, “the manual is shorter than the automatic.”
“Yes, I’d say.”
“Ok, well good. You just need to be aware of that.”
By the time we had our third conversation about it, I was WELL aware! 🙂

Here are a few pics:

2013-07-30-pulley

The cobwebs and dust on the hook suggest the garage’s engine pulley hasn’t been used in decades.

2013-07-30-liftoff

The engine is about to be freed.

2013-07-30-tranny1

The jeep sits just high enough to allow me to pull the tranny and tc out from under it. I’d like to say it was stellar planning, but it was really dumb luck.

2013-07-30-tranny2

There she sits, looking like she’s bleeding a bit. She and I had some good times, but our divorce will soon be finalized. Time for some thing different.
