Some have fenders, leaf springs, steering wheels, etc and some don’t. No motors or transmissions but I do have various parts (see pics). I have 1 hood left, 1 window frame, multiple axles and other parts. Asking $500 per Jeep or potentially less depending on condition.”

“Clearing out more of Dad’s projects. 1948 Willys Jeep. Would make a great restoration project. Clear title. $1850 OBO No lowball offers.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** for $1300.
As Greg notes in the text, this very early Convertible DJ-3A (220th made) has been converted into a four-wheel-drive jeep. What’s curious to me is that this jeep is earlier than mine, but as the KS 0-8 speedometer (with an intact needle no less) rather than the KS 0-10 like mine. So, is my speedo original or not? Hmm.
This particular DJ-3A has a number of stock parts, such as the windshield, which appears in good shape, and the Gauze wire filter, which is a hard to find item. The gas linkage and carb are unique to the DJ-3A and are hard items to find. Unfortunately, the underside of the body is rough (perhaps the floor is replaceable).
The frame of this DJ-3A looks original, as it has two plates on both sides which were used to attach the parking brake brackets (you can see one of the four hole plates near the top-middle of the very last photo below).
“1956 WILLYS DJ-3A (Dispatcher) Jeep
Model 56337
Serial # 10221
Block # 3J154786

Engine turns over when key is turned.
Oil and coolant look good and where at correct levels when removed from barn (inside for past 10+ years).
The four wheel drive and floor shift are not this jeeps original equipment.
Both floor pans have patch plates.
Rear cross member has been replaced.
Transmission is stuck in gear.
Rolls freely and is in a location to easily load.
Please respond with your name and phone number and I will call you.
If the add is up its still for sale.

This 4-page brochure from D.L. Beck Manufacturing included a separate price list that dates the brochure around August 1, 1955. Curiously, the “Econo” hardtop was no longer featured in the brochure (see a 1954 example brochure at the bottom of this post). Apparently that “Econo” line of hardtops wasn’t good enough after all (see letter at the bottom that explains the reference).

“This is a 1948 Jeep Willy’s cj2a. Motors locked but the block still looks good. It’s a 4×4 and it still goes into all gears hi/lot and 4wd. Both diffs are good and the steering column is good. Springs are rusty (like the rest of it) but no cracks. The frame could be reused but there’s a few holes that need patched up. The cab is pretty much gone but that and the fenders come with the chassis as a reference for remaking them. Good project for someone’s who got the time.”
UPDATE: Still Available.

“1946 Jeep (CJ2) for sale! This one of a kind ride is not for the faint of heart. I purchased this vehicle for several reasons. I appreciate someone’s labor of love, the time, patience and skill it requires to turn a heirloom into a beautiful racing machine. This itself is a memorable challenge and an accomplishment. A few things were kept original.
In 2010 the original family owners took it off the road, took the 350 out, bought a new 350 4 Bolt Main, and ripped it down **every nut, bolt, gasket and more…** It was built by a Chevy Master Mechanic of 38 years. Everything was done from the heads, lifters, cam, new transfer case, rear end, 411 gears, and so much more that is way too much to list.
UPDATE: Still Available? It has been listed for a couple years.
(03/14/2018) Looks pretty unmolested. I wonder how the floors are.
