Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1963 cj6 with “Fireball” v6, Three speed manual. Runs and drives perfect. 4×4 works flawless. Has a heater, radio, rear back lights, 4500 pound winch, folding tow bar for easy transport. There is no rust in floor. The floor has been repaired with new metal. Frame has no rust. Very solid Jeep for its age. New master cylinder, brake lines, and brake pads all the way around. UPDATE: Mystery solved. I found a couple brochures about this top. They were published in a 1947ish Willys Overland Equipment Book (thanks to Jon for letting me scan that particular folder). The suicide doors were original to this top. Examples of The Boston Top below:

(09/17/2015) This includes a rare Porter Read hardtop.
“1948 Willys Jeep CJ2A. L-head four cylinder. Body in good shape, not perfect. Intake/exhaust manifold is off the engine. Well worth the effort needed to get it going. 12 volt conversion is started, the expensive parts are there. Spare engine block and manifold available for an additional $100.
Also have a rare, vintage Porter and Reed aluminum top for the jeep, includes the doors. Needs some minor repair. $500. Jeep buyer gets the first crack at the top. ”

(08/05/2015) Appears to run and drive. Looks like a CJ-3A to me. We should be in Renton on Thursday. I could take a look at it.

Been looking for a little CJ2A, couldn’t find one exactly like I wanted, bought this one about a month ago, drove down last weekend and picked it up south of Livingston, this morning one showed up about 5 miles from my house so I went and bought it.
