“This Jeep is being sold as a parts jeep or a solid restoration candidate.
It is a early Willys Slat Grill jeep.
Original data plates
Serial Number 103390 on data plate
Date of is 12-11-41
Frame tag is painted over but I suggest it matches the data plate
Engine number is MB113681

I hate to see this parted out because it would make an EXCELLENT frame off restoration project.
The frame is solid, the fenders and hood are good also.
The “Willys Script “tub needs new sheet metal in many areas but is actually very straight. Previous owner cut out most of all the bad areas already.
The windshield is good but is a victim over alot of overspray, which probably saved it.
T 84 Transmission is also early type, filler on pass side. I can not verify if it is ford or willys.
Comes with four combat rims

UPDATE: Still Available. The body is newer than a ’41 and appears to have been modified a little at the tool indents. Also note the driver’s side wheel. It appears to be pushed back a little farther than normal. Thanks to Colin and Richard for spotting these issues.

This could be a slat grille. It has an early gas tank.

“This a Willys Slat Grille MB is in need of a full restoration but is a great start and retains much of its originality.  The OD paint is still under the other layers of paint.

The DOD is 2 Feb. 1942 and the USA number is 204748?, the body number is 20033 and it has the square deep well with the script Willys on the rear panel.

It has had government upgrades such as the rear panel reinforcement and trailer socket added.  The engine needs to be rebuilt but is an MB replacement engine with a blank pad.  It has a casting date of 12.30 and is probably a 1944 block.

Both front seats are the original early split pattern and the driver’s seat pan has been modified for the later wide mouth style fuel tank and filler neck.

It also comes with the original early style rear seat.”

The grille itself looks good.  Unclear about the year.

Here’s an early Slattie.

“1941 willys mb slat grille. this is a very early jeep. according to the gee 503 dot com. some say it is a first or second day production.

I will list specifics that this jeep has. it has a running willys engine. with a mb 111471 that is the number on the water pump housing on the jeep engine. which consequently is the vin number. no dash plate with number or number on the frame.

this engine runs and purrs like a kitten. I base all my information of the g503 where this is a possible us replacement army engine out of the 50s but it is NOT the correct engine.

Some awesome pieces are included in the sale. Slat grille radiator (which may have a leak in the middle) Gas gauge. previous owner said it worked when the tank was full. but I doubt it. don’ tknow. air filter is early as well. there a slat air deflectors on the side of the fenders. and the big one on bottom of the hood. engine smokes a little when it is first fired up. but the jeep drives starts stops. all three gears work”

“Here is a very early 1942 Willys MB jeep. It is the very last run of slat grills that had the glovebox. It has a slat grill frame with the short top straps and a willys script tub. It also has slat grill air deflectors. The jeep has a F head motor installed that turns over. The jeep will probably run with very little effort. I do have a WWII Willys MB engine that I would be willing to sell separately to the high bidder. I am starting the bidding at $100 with no reserve so please bid accordingly. What you see is what you get and please ask any questions you have. There is no title but I can obtain one. It will take a month or so and the winning bidder will have to cover the fees.
