I found this Hurricane Engine Introduction on eBay. It’s the first one I’ve seen. It credits Barney Roos for redeveloping the L-head into a more powerful engine without forcing a complete retooling.

Eye-Catching Ice Cream and Diaper Service Jeeps
UPDATE: This was previously published in July of 2014.
This great article from the July 1947 issue of W-O Sales News highlights the use of jeeps as ice-cream distributors and as a diaper service. Companies highlighted include Better Brands Ice Cream Novelties, Swell Time Ice Cream Corporation, and Wee Folk Laundry.
4-Wheel Drive ‘Jeep’ Sign **SOLD**
UPDATE: Was on eBay. **SOLD**
“20 * 18in double sided flange sign. This sign does have some very minor wear around the edges, see images of front and back. Great for sign collectors, bar, garage, man-cave, restaurant, shop, or any collection. Thanks for looking!”
K & K Minute Snow Blade Brochure
I like the way the hydraulic line from the snow plow was fed through the open window. K & K claimed the blade could be installed in two minutes or less. I’m thinking it should have been called the “Two Minute Snow Blade”.
The Story of the Auburn Jeep-A-Trench
This was published around 1950. It’s less story and more marketing, but still interesting. The argument that the trencher doesn’t affect the roadability of the jeep might be a stretch ….
1959 Argentinian Wagon Brochure on eBay
August 1960 Jeep Family Brochure **SOLD**
1956 Kelly Mfg. 200 Series Brochure on eBay
What I find interesting about this brochure is that the front cover includes a small information bit noting that the Kelly All-Steel Jeep CAB was “KNOWN ALSO AS THE KEMCO CAB”. If the date is accurate, this suggests the shift in branding from KEMCO to Kelly around 1956.
1959 CJ-5 Hardtop Brochure **SOLD**
UPDATE: SOLD, Was on eBay. As I understand it, this top was quietly manufactured for Willys Motors by Koenig, but never branded a Koenig. I am also of the belief that it fits both the CJ-5 and the DJ-3A, though the latter needs the windshield with ‘wings’ to fit.
This brochure makes it clear that the CJ-5 hardtop with sliding doors also provided an option for hinging the door instead. I think Mike might have told that was an option, but I’d never seen documentation of it until now.
Datasheets From 1958(?) on eBay
This is a series of datasheets from circa 1958 on eBay. The start prices are $12 each.
1962 Station Wagon Brochure
1962 Utility Wagon Brochure
1951 Jeep Family Brochure
This brochure highlighted the Hurricane Engine. It folds out to a colorful overview of all the models.
1954-1955 Dealer Price Sheets
I bought these on eBay as part of another purchase. Perhaps the most interesting about them are the ambulance prices and standard equipment included (last set of docs), as there seems to be very little info about those left.
1960ish Las Brisas Jeep Rental Card W/Map
I found this neat little card from the Las Brisas resort on eBay. Folded up, it’s about the size of a post card. The illustrated side advertises pink jeep rentals in English and Spanish. The other side shows a map of the area (here’s a google map link). It’s meant to sit on a table or desk.
1945 CJ-2A Memorial Press Brochure
I thought I had a good chance to win this one on eBay, but it slipped away at the last second buy a second bidder. Anyway, it’s a souvenir program of the first national press event for the CJ-2A. Here are some photos.
1963 Tonka Ad with Surrey on eBay
The January 1963 issue of Playthings Magazine included this neat Tonka ad. I tried to find a full issue of Playthings Magazine on eBay, but there weren’t any 1960s that I could find. I suspect this is probably a rare ad.
CJ-5 Tie Clip Longview, WA **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
If I wore ties, I’d snag this.
“1960s Jeep original dealership showroom salesmans promotional gold colored tie bar, size 2 inches, condition is good, any questions please send an e-mail, USA shipping will be $4.00”
Poster/Brochure Purchased on eBay
When I purchased this brochure on eBay, I didn’t expect it would unfold to such a large size! Even better, I got it using “make offer” on eBay for only $16. Here is how it unfolds:
And then the inside … this one is worth making some posters.
6 Early Wagon Ads **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Were on eBay.’
These six ads are $9.95. Not a bad price.
“SIX original 10×13″ magazine ads in very good condition.”

1955? Hardtop Brochure on eBay
UPDATE: Here’s another one of these rare brochures for sale. Thanks to Bill Norris and Derek Redmond for the extra pics. This brochure has been for sale on the same eBay pager for four years. Its on sale at the moment.
This unusual fiberglass hardtop was created by the Reinforced Plastics Corp. I have yet to see one in the wild. Two journal articles (Chemical Week 1957, Volume 81 and National Defense Transportation Journal 1957, Volumes 13-14) both have announcements for the new top, pegging its inception around mid-1957. Unfortunately, Google will only provide snipped views of these University of Michigan scanned journals. The date of these journals suggests the lister of this brochure is probably wrong about the 1955 date for the brochure.
Jeep Utility Wagon Brochure
I snagged this early 1950s Jeep Utility Wagon brochure off eBay. It took some time to find an inexpensive one. It came with a small bundle of other brochures.
