This is a nice looking jeep ready for the trail with a variety of updates.
“Jeep CJ-2A, to much to list. Excellent condition. Call for details. 7,800.00 OBO”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $7900
This ’46 sports a variety of upgrades. It looks nice. Strangely, the front parking lights have been eliminated.
“1946 willys, california car, ’74 350 corvette engine, 4 speed manual trans, ’74 cj5 running gear, 44 dyna rear, 30 dyna front, all gauges work, body in good condition, no rust, newer Best Top with soft doors, dual fuel tanks, Ramsey Pro 9000 front mount winch, roll cage , dual KC running lights, Deist seat/shoulder belt system. 5 new BF Goodrich 33×12.50 R LT tires, 5 used chrome wheels, 4 new 15 Champion bead lock C2 rims,
contact Chuck @ 586-463-6150 ”
I suspect this also has some update running gear as well based on the amount the tires stick outside the body lines.
“1949 Willys CJ2A Jeep Trade Buick 231 V6, 3 speed trans with Warn Overdrive, comes with Best Top soft top, runs great, has collector plates, this thing is a blast in the summertime! $5000 firm or poss trade for 4×4 quad, or maybe something else.”
This CJ has a serial number of 75375.
“Jeep and trailer have been in the same family since at least 1956. Before that they are believed to have been the property of Denver Tramway Corporation. Except for periodic use they have been stored inside in an unheated garage in western Colorado, a very low humidity climate. Consequently both have very little rust. The Jeep hasn’t run for about 5 years because we tried to put a new gas tank in. Because of our mechanical ineptitude we couldn’t reconnect the fuel line from the tank to the engine block. Then we lost interest in the project. The original tank is still available if buyer wants it. In about 2000, before the fuel tank episode, we took the jeep in to get new belts, hoses, and battery. We put about 50 miles on it before we dicided to replace the fuel tank, which we did because the gas gauge wasn’t reading properly…..”
“This is a really cool Willys! If you like theme vehicles, this is set up as a civil defense vehicle. Popular back in the sixties. It appears to be all original engine, drivetrain etc. Starts right up and runs good and shifts like it should through the gears. It has like new tires, beauty rims, new battery and ignition switch, new shocks, a really nice tow bar for flat towing and it has lockout hubs so you don’t need to bring a trailer! All lights and turn signals work, including the red flashing emergency light on the fender. It has an ammo box between the seats where a radiation detector is stored. I don’t know if it works or not….”
UPDATE: Back on eBay
(06/25/09) This is a nice looking, mostly restored (though not to an original state) CJ-2A.
“This Jeep Willys is titled as a 1941 Jeep however the Vin# indicates that it is more likely a 1945-1946 model.Mileage showing 5426”
“frame off restored has a flat head 4 cylender 3 speed trans hi low 4×4 runs and drives great clean title also has been converted to 12 volt aftermarket wireing system or i would be willing to trade for nice 4×4 truck or other restored car of equal value im asking 5500 obo”
This doesn’t seem like a bad price for $1500.
“1946 Willys CJ2. Rebuilt original engine, radiator, starter, 12 volt alternator. New master cylinder, wheel cylinders, shocks, springs, tires, chrome rims, exhaust system, turn signals, rear view mirror, gas tank, windshield wiper and motor, steering wheel and more. “I have a 1947 CJ-2A willys jeep It’s not running or complete but it dose have a 134 flathead engine, T-90 tranny, and a mod 18 T-case.and a Very Nice Body tub, the only rust is on the flore of the tool box. L”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was Make Offer
“’46’ CJ 2a parts jeep.. rolling chassis.. Tub is fair.. no major damage.. CJ 3 windshield..
Stock diff front & rear.. even has the seats… Since I don’t need any more yard art… make me an offer… I am looking for a good home for the Jeep I call ‘dingle berry’. Thanks”
” This is an incredible find! 1948 Jeep Willy “hard-shell” ambulance. Includes siren and light. This is the perfect restoration project for the Willy/Jeep collector or the person who must have that incredibly “head-turning” must-have collector vehicle.”
This might be a very good deal.
“This is an unrestored, unmolested original Willys Jeep. It has the original 4-cylinder engine and 6 volt running gear. I bought this Jeep last year, not running, and I put a starter, battery, new cables and a new ignition switch in it. Now it starts and runs and I’m able to drive it up and down the street. I’d love to keep it and make a nice mountain goat out of it, but I just have too many projects and can’t devote the time to it. My loss is your gain! It comes with a gas can with mounting bracket, a tow bar for 1 7/8 ball, trailer hitch and four spare wheels (I was told they are the original wheels). The NM title is clear and in my name.”
This has an unusual top.
“63,000 original miles, four cylinder Flat Head engine, 3 speed transmission with top end of 52 mph. Converted to 12 volts. New brakes & brake hoses, carburetor rebuilt, replaced generator with alternator, electronic ignition, new hoses, electric windshield wipers, new upholstery, six point bolt-on roll cage with rear lights & bikini top, Barden winch, tow bar. 16″ chrome rims with 235/85 X 16 Dayton Timberline tires,”
This is a beautiful build, but the price will scare a lot of buyers away. A tilt front flattie is certainly rare enough to warrant posting.
“1947 CJ2A Willys: Engine – 302 V8, New Edelbrock Carb, Edelbrock intake manifold, New Starter, water pump, one wire Alt, motor mounts, remote oil filter, All new gaskets, oil pan valve cover, front, rear main seals, new flex fan, 3 core radiator, rad hose’s. UPDATE: **SOLD**All the stuff must go (probably in violation of a county ordinance or something)
The builder put a good collection of parts together for this flattie.

“I bought this about 15 years ago and it has been a blast. I have a large farm and we used it to cruise around here and taught my kids how to drive on it. It runs excellant and has the original Hurricane 4 cyl. Red Devil engine with a 3 spd. Trans. The tires are great, but as you can see they are not original equip. Recently installed entire brake system. We would use this to ride around at hunting season and the occassional trip down to the local watering hole. It has been great to us and has always started and never left us stranded. It truly is a great piece of history that would make an excellant canidate for restoration or use as is. We have had our fun with it but just don’t use it much anymore so it is time for it to go to a new owner.”
“great jeep mechanically……cosmeticly challanged……… runs and drives and stops! no smoke or grinds etc. was fully rebuilt as a hunting rig about 8000 miles ago ….springs, engine, tranny ,transfer,etc…..and thats about 15 years. kept outside. pretty solid body, orig seats speedo and gauges work .2 new tires original type wheels. wrong steering wheel. brand new starter and carb work done. the old jeep is about farm ready today”
UPDATE: During the math portion of my analysis below, I forgot the serial numbers started at 10,000, so there was more like 28,000 column shift CJ-2As. Thanks for spotting this Lee!
Here’s a VEC with a serial number of 15777. According to the CJ-2A page, the number of column shifting CJ-2As was more like 28,000 jeeps 38,000 rather than 15,000 mentioned by the seller.
“Serial number 15777, CJ2A with 3-on the tree. Very rare as only about 15,000 produced with the gear shifter on the column. Great for rock crawling as you can keep both hands on the steering wheel while shifting gears. Runs good, has good tires. I use it in the mountains near Lake Tahoe during the summer months and store it at my house in San Jose during the winter months. I also used it to pull floats in parades, but no longer retain current DNV registration. I put new Ford/Chevy large brakes on the front axle, replaced brake shoes on the rear. I also replaced the oil bath air filter and old filter systems. I have all original older parts plus some spare stuff. Email me for more info and pictures. Mike”
Here’s trail ready jeep with a very low crawl ratio (sm420 + dana 300/teralow +4.56 gears).

“Hello, I buy, sell, repair, and restore willys jeeps. Flat fenders are my favorite which I have owned one for over 35 years. This is a great jeep for parades, car shows and just criusing around. A previous owner has done a nice job restoring it. It has a lot of unique EXTRAS with it. … This is a nice jeep and is a very unique head turner. Rubber is very good too.
This jeep is ‘almost’ completely restored. For example, there’s no emergency brake.
“for sale — 1946 willys jeep completely restored. 260 miles on rebuilt motor, new body , tires– excellent condition. PLEASE do not offer some ridiculous amount, I won’t respond . Selling for another party.”
Ryan found this gem. You know, there’s more jeep here than I’ve seen in some jeeps for sale. I guarantee something is salvageable, or your money back.
“Free 1947 Willys CJ2A. This is free because it has almost no usable parts. No engine or tranny.Body and frame are rotted. It’s basically just scrape metal. It does have the original matching front and rear axle. Most everything else has been removed or is rusted away. Front tires and wheels are not included. You will need a trailer or flatbed to take it away.

This jeep has a variety of upgrades, though it’s having some difficulty with 2nd gear.
