I saw this one Facebook. I didn’t realize that the Sam Warner Military Museum in Tennessee had such an extensive collection of jeeps, including some airborne prototypes. I will make it a point to visit there during my May trip.

Download The Willys Story

• CATEGORIES: Advertising & Brochures, Features This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

You may remember that a few months ago a document called The Willys Story went up for sale on eBay. Well, fortunately for all of us, that document sold to an eWillys reader who asked if I would make a high-resolution version available to anyone who wants it. Given the document was a pricey purchase, it’s a very generous offer. So, a big thank you is in order for that anonymous benefactor!

The document is 85 pages and purports to show all the different aspect of the Willys-Overland Company from 1940 to 1954. You’ll see that Willys had their hands into a variety of things, not just jeeps.

I’ve uploaded the file to my google drive, so downloading it should be a snap. It is just under 400MB, so it’s not a small PDF file.

DOWNLOAD HERE: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1An2t8AWJccU9UcEFkfdFizaaVFUvqiZl/view?usp=sharing

(I have never used by google drive space. My test of the download worked. But, the internet sometimes works in mysterious ways, so if you have problems, please let me know!)

Outside, all the body parts of a classic military Jeep® of World War II fame such as the body tub, hood, fenders, grille, windshield, seat frames, bumpers, canvass top and wheels are supplied by MD Juan. Pop the hood and before you is the powertrain of the future, the electric vehicle technology that includes an electric motor, controller, rechargeable batteries, charger and vehicle control unit from PhUV. The Johnny Cash Children’s Christmas Album

• CATEGORIES: Features This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

I was sick again today, so not too many posts. I feel like I’m getting better. That’s what we get for have eleven children here under the age of five years old! They are germ carriers for sure!

Tim filed this short report on February 26th, which is Johnny Cash’s birthday.

“Cathy and I made a trip to Nashville, Tennessee, and spent a few days there listening to good music, eating hot chicken and of course looking out for jeeps. In the Johnny Cash museum I found this CJ-5 on the cover of the “Johnny Cash Children’s Album” and…..Today is Johnny Cash’s birthday !”

Early Meyers Hardtop Brochure

• CATEGORIES: Advertising & Brochures, Features • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

This brochure suggests that a company called Meyers Aircraft developed the hardtop that was eventually sold/taken-over by Sears. It makes sense that an aircraft company would make an aluminum hardtop. So, there may be a few Meyers’ made hardtops mistaken as Sears or Allstate tops.

Willys Online **CLOSED**

• CATEGORIES: Features This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: I have closed the Willys Online website.

No updates Sunday, but if you like old cars, you might want to check out Willysonline.com, a site I just took over and revamped (much work left to do). The central theme is Willys Overland automobiles (such as Overlands, HenryJs, Willys-Knights and others) and any other vintage auto that I happen to run across while doing eWillys.

It won’t have the regular updates and features that eWillys does, but it’s something I’ll build and perhaps hand it off to someone else down the line (as I really don’t know much about these vintage cars).

Nate’s Hydraulic Assist For His CJ-3A

• CATEGORIES: Builds, Features • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Nate’s at it again. He got to thinking about upgrading his steering on Ted, his CJ-3A. One thing led to another and soon he was developing a fairly non-invasive (no saginaw-like alterations) way of improving his steering. He’s spent the past month and a half writing it up on the earlyCJ-5 page.

1951 Article From Travel Trailer

Rudy shared this article from the 1951 issue of Travel Trailer Magazine. That’s one big trailer. According to the author, the tongue weight was 1000lbs, but the jeep was only rated for 800lbs. What could possibly go wrong?
