“*Title is not usable, was filled out but never taken to license bureau* Rolling chassis project Ford GPW. This is an authentic WWII Jeep. Has enough there to be a restoration project, but could also be a restomod.
Paperwork shows it came from Kettering, Ohio in 1980, then went to Indianapolis, IN. In 1994 it was sold at public auction. Has the true GPW frame with square radiator crossmember. The serial number on the title is GPW10723 which puts it at early 1942, but the body number is 208184 which is post 1943. Original drivetrain is missing and both axles are simply housings – no shafts or pinions. Body and frame have their fair share of patches as shown in the photos.”
This 1945 MB was rebuilt in 2012. Unfortunately, it seems to be a mix of parts (GPW body and MB frame for example). Also, it seems the parking brake equipment was not installed.

“Documents list all the work that was done when it was restored in 2012, at a total of $22,566. I love this jeep but unfortunately I will be moving across the country in the next year and don’t have options for storage. Someone else will enjoy it!
Odometer 96,930 (no more than 25 miles have been put on it since the engine was redone.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $15,663.
(12/27/2020) This appears to be a WWII chassis with a hacked-up replacement tub. It includes the trailer. More information here: https://www.bamotorco.com/Inventory%2FDetails%2F67372907
“Wow! Check out this awesome 1951 Willy’s Jeep!!!!! … Willy’s M 38 A with Passenger Trailer”

“1942 Willys MB Jeep built 1/8/1942. The serial # is 110515, frame # 110515, engine # MB595247. This Jeep was restored 18 years ago and driven 20 miles since. The Jeep has the original metal and Tub with some rust in the forward hat channel and a dent behind the passengers seat (see photos). The engine starts easily and runs very well, the transmission works as it should. The transfer case works correctly but is dripping some oil. All gauges work except the fuel gauge. The tires are as new and the brakes are very good. All electrical is working except the horn. Correct dish wheels. This Jeep has the correct steering wheel, the later WWII jeeps had the steel spoke wheels to save rubber.
This is a good looking and good driving 42 MB.”
UPDATE: Reports are the this sold. It was listed at $20,000.
Based on the front bumper’s holes, I think this is a GPW.
“Totally restored with 50 caliber machine gun – for sale $20K or trade.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** on eBay for $18,551.
Bill shared this nice looking MB that’s for auction on eBay. This does have a charging issue.

“Rebuilt 15 years ago haven’t used the last 5. Has a charging problem. Had the generator locally rebuilt so I can only assume it’s the regulator which I will supply with vehicle. Good clear title. Good solid condition. What you see in the photos is what comes with the Jeep. OVM, some tools, jack, air pump, fire extinguisher, Decon cylinder with bracket, grease gun, oil can, water bucket, water can, combat wheels and Firestone tires, working 600 series signal Corp radio with all accessories to include crystals, spare tubes, lollipop mike, headphones, headset, carrying strap, complete vehicle and ground mount antennas, ground mount battery box, radio manual, remote, and antenna tie down with insulator. Numerous “F” marked parts to include but not limited to: bumpers, seats, grab handles, towing Pintle , and numerous bolts. Beach wood canvas top and seat cushions. “I’ve decided to sell my “flat rod” It’s a Ford GPW body, M38 frame with a rebuilt 302 and a C4 trans. Scout II front end with GM truck outers, Dodge truck rear end. I’ve got a lot of build pics on some Facebook groups. It’s all wired, starts, runs and moves, needs front shocks (I was trying to decide between friction and tube) and some minor finishing work, check everything’s tight, etc… Gauges, lights, signals, and horn all work. I don’t have a title but have a line on one through a guy from Washington state. Depending on where you are you might not need one. I know I’ll never get out what I put in but I’m thinking $10k obo if anyone’s interested.”
Hopefully, someone can use this.

“Regrettably I am in need of selling my GPW. Picked it up to restore but need the money to fix my truck. This is for body and chassis my friend needs the axles. Yes it is a f script chassis. Asking $1000 OBO. Would not be selling if I didnt have to”
Bill shared this GPW on eBay. As of this writing, there are no bids and the starting bid price is $6900.
“1942 Willys / Ford GPW Jeep.
The Jeep is registered and I have the pink slip in hand.
The jeep starts and drives although it needs a new clutch plate, the clutch is slipping. The engine is a post war engine. I cannot see any numbers on the frame, I did not want to remove the paint looking for them. The combat rims and tires are not being sold with the jeep, I have other rims and tires to replace them for transport. I am selling the jeep to finance a rebuild I am doing on a Willys MB. I have 4 Willys Jeep’s, too many projects to keep up with.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.
Not sure how much value is here.
“Willys MB/ Ford GPW… make unknown. Year/mileage unknown. This farm jeep last ran 20 years ago. It’s been sitting in a barn ever since the bearings in the rear axle gave out. This would be a great farm Jeep for anyone with some time and money. You would need to pick it up with a trailer.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.
It’s built atop a Willys frame, so appears to be an early GPW.
“offering a rare1942 ford gpw jeep.for restoration this is a rare early example built on a willys midland chassis. has a later L134 installed and a T90 trans. it still sports its original scalloped rear axle shafts ($1000) has all 3 original brass dash data plates Ford gpw chassis number stamped in drivers side frame rail. early flat topped grill script rear body panel a very early and rare ford gpw jeep $3000 ono pickup and location for viewing NW Houston TX 77092 sold with bill of sale”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $14,000.
Joe in Mesa’s friend Vern is selling his GPW. Joe reports that Vern, whose father was in the OSS, is a history buff who knows his stuff, so this should be a pretty accurate GPW. Why only $14K? Well in addition to the light harness needing to be installed, the transmission leaks (don’t they ALL?) and that bothers him. He thinks it should be pulled out and re-gasketed.
“1944 GPW, Everything is correctly F marked. No aftermarket parts, New Firestone tires, New highend wiring harness, Lights need to be wired and connected. The kit for that comes with it. Arizona title. When all is said and [done] it’s a really nice jeep; runs very well, can’t think of too many problems with it. Asking 14K. Firm.”
Looks like a good project.

(11/12/2020) This old school California build with a Muller top went through some additional modifications over the years. It will need a little more work, hence the price.

(12/15/2020) This looks to be a GPW body on a CJ (Possible 1953 CJ-3A or CJ-3B) chassis. There’s no engine. The cowl modification is unusual, but I’d say the steering setup is especially unusual!

“Sandy is a rebuilt 1945 Jeep Ford. Army Jeep with detachable trailer (trailer not military). This Jeep is great for off-roading, adventures, and highway cruising. NEVER RESTORED. Sandy has no rust, an iron Duke GM 4 cylinder engine and clean retro fit. Has all original black out lights and bows for cover and the original summer top. Unknown miles. Great project car and for learning to drive stick.
This car was bought to teach my daughter about working on cars. She learned to drive stick on this car once it was finished and did the upgraded desert storm paint job.”

“Vintage Jeep Ford GPW 1942 GPW18221. Lots of original F script parts. Non running but engine turns freely. Engine is not original as far as I can tell as engine serial number starts with J. Front frame serial number is GPW18231 which falls somewhere between 3 and 7 of 1942. Condition is “Used”. Three 15” wheels and one 16” non combat rim. Would make good project or for parts. No title selling as is. Pickup only in SW VA or would consider delivering within 100 miles. No reserve.”
This is a non-runner.

“Up for sale is late 1942 Ford GPW WWII Jeep. This is fresh from the cow pastures of Texas!
THIS IS A NON RUNNING PARTS VEHICLE! Lets go with the “Good, Bad, and the Ugly”.
The good is that it is late 1942 ford with a lot of ford marked parts. It has an GPW radiator, early Sheller steering wheel, nice earlier style hood, ford axles, 1 combat wheel, clean rear panel, nice CJ2a style windscreen, a period correct hand crank winch on the bumper, 2 of the brass data plates on the glove box, motor is Willys MB that was a depot rebuild at the Red River Arsenal 3-3-58, WWII carter carb, OG oil bath air cleaner, and many F marked bolts. “1943 World War II military jeep. Clean clear California title with no back fees. It’s all stock except for the small Block Ford V8 that runs excellent. It also has hanging petals with hydraulic brake and clutch master cylinder. This is a great little run around hot rod Jeep that could easily be a candidate for a full restoration or Rockcrawler build. Or just leave it the way it is and have a great time. If you don’t think this is a great deal, then it probably isn’t the deal for you 😊 It has all of the hard stuff to find. Nine slot military grill with the stock headlights and headlight brackets. Tool boxes with latches in the back of the tub. Hood without Willys on it. The correct windshield frame. The stock high-capacity gas tank etc. (I will not be available to show this vehicle until Tuesday, December 29. This will be first come first serve in person cash sale.”
