Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Listed as a 1946 CJ-2A, it looks more like an MB with a CJ front clip.
“New: Carb, gas tank, oil pan gasket, fuel pump, ignition parts. other brake parts.
This is considered a collectors item in many circles.
I had it running and driving but I ran out of time and money. It will need to be transported out but it rolls easily. All of the tires hold air. The only thing it needs to run is to re-install the oil filter and oil lines. It is an easy fix. When running, it smoked a little, but that is expected from a 68 year old vehicle. I have a title for it and a paper trail. It has been bought and sold a few times without the title being changed over.
This is an excellent vehicle to drive and restore at the same time. There are many parts available for it and it’s easy to work on. Own a piece of history!”

“Selling the extra parts from my 1943 willys project. What’s included in the package is as follows:
Body tub with brackets that are bolted to it, and the original Gages minus the speedo
Front fenders, good usable condition, need new braces welded in
Hood, again good usable condition except the rear most bracket needs repair
Both drivers and passengers seats are included. The passengers seat is perfect. Drivers seat has some rust that’s needs repair on the seat bottom only.
This customized jeep appears to have an WWII chassis.

“I purchased this jeep as a project in 06 and haven’t worked on it since. It is a WWII model that I believe was made by ford and has the turret plate on the frame. It was torn down for a body off frame restoration when I picked it up and is in the same condition now. The body and parts have been inside a barn, the engine and frame outside. If I remember correctly the engine is not the original but is out of a “newer” than this jeep. I was told it was running when it was torn down. The pictures are from when I picked it up. The jeep is titled in CO. Reply to this add with questions and for more pics. I have the ability to lift and load onto flatbed trailer.”

Sounds like it is a mix of MB & GPW parts.

It is a true “WILLYS” script jeep.
Has clear Texas title
Data plate on glove box and frame number match. 160240 Production date 7/20/42
Engine is stamped GPW-2766. It also has an “F” script head.
Engine has all major components and spins freely.
All drive train and suspension components present.
Comes with original windshield frame, drivers seat frame and steering wheel.
I also have a set of 4 combat rims included with this jeep.
As you can see it also has the “ram horn” style tow hooks and the period correct U.S.M.C. stenciling on drivers side of tub. These two items can not absolutely confirm but chances are better than average that this was indeed a Marine Corps jeep.”

“Over this Memorial Day weekend, consider buying yourself the quintessential American vehicle that won WWII. With a very heavy heart I have decided to part with my jeep. I did a complete restoration on this jeep back in the late 90’s, had it in several Petaluma Veteran’s Day Parades, and used it as a regular driver for a long time. I drove the hell out of it, so much so that it needed to go through another rebuild.

This is unusual. Seems to have some MB parts and custom parts.

I NEVER LICENSED IT. IT HAS A REGISTRATION PAPER DATING TO THE 60S. I SPOKE WITH DMV THIS WEEK AND THEY SAID MADISON SPECIAL REGISTRATION CAN TITLE THIS. THIS IS AN AS IS SALE. Joe reported the following: Wanted to share some pics of a Willys MB, delivery date 3/8/45, that was auctioned in a South Bethany Beach, Delaware estate sale on Saturday, May 15, 2015. Winning bid was $3,450. The jeep appeared to be mostly complete with a majority of hard-to-find-items intact including a tandem tow bar but had lots of surface rust with only one area of rust-through. The motor is seized. Title status was unknown at the time of sale. Proves once again that these little gems are still out there, even after 70 years!!!
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $25,000.
