This Issue has another foldout, awkward center-page full of congrats this time dedicated to dealers who enjoyed a Nassau vacation. There is also a page celebrating the 51 jeeps used in the 1961 Presidential Inauguration parade. Another page is dedicated to Surreys. Finally, on the last page you’ll find a warning about a scam involving $90 Army jeeps!
This wide shot shows page 2 (from above) plus pages 3-5 (Nassau dealer holiday):
The Surreys appear on page 6:
The $90 jeep scam pulls on page 8:
UPDATE :This was published October 03, 2013:
This photo is neat, but I wish the paper had been a little thicker so the words didn’t show through.
Here’s an interesting item: 9 pages of letterhead from Willy’s Minneapolis Zone, priced at $9.93.

“1958 Willys Jeep 4 Wheel Drive Vehicles Letterhead from Willys Minneapolis Zone – Nine (9) Sheets one price. Measures 8.5″ x 11.0″, showing some yellowing and shelf wear.”
Nice photo from a San Juan Scenic Jeep tour. Too bad the first photo isn’t a slightly wider photo.
Apparently, the arboretum had at least two different colors of jeep trains. Here’s a slide then of an orange one. It is currently priced at $12.99.

This postcard depicts how tram visitors used to tour the former Santa Anita ranch of “Lucky Baldwin”, who made millions in silver. According to the website, “Occupying the heart of the historic Rancho Santa Anita, The Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden is a unique 127 acre botanical garden and historical site jointly operated by the Los Angeles Arboretum Foundation and the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation and located in the city of Arcadia.”
Looks solid.

“Professionally restored by army jeep specialist T90 transmission, 3 speed manual Transfer case is an 18 L head engine, otherwise known as a flathead, has been professionally reworked at an engine shop and has less than 100 miles on it- original mileage is 13k Dana 25 front axle Real axle Dana 44 PTO Carter w/o carburetor Choke and floor mounted foot starter Runs great, ready to drive home or out for a ride in the desert! (But can be delivered) The top shredded while bringing it up north, price reflects the need to buy a new one, still have all the hardware if your a do-it-yourselfer.”
Looks good, but the bench seat seems an odd choice given the restoration.

“WWII 1943 Willys Jeep, MB engine with Serial Number MB-250260 which matches the military depot data plate on the frame. It was rebuilt by the military on 10/14/1952 at Esslingen Ordinance Depot. The engine does turn over and is fairly original under the hood. The only thing not original for the era, is the voltage regulator for the generator. It has original gauges, but someone broke out the glass. Engine is mated to T84 transmission. It includes all seat frames front and rear, original fuel tank, 4 combat rims with used NDT and new tubes mounted. Also included is a set of top bows however they are for a M-38 and not an MB. They could be converted by welding. Original windshield frame is pretty rough but this jeep comes with another external windshield frame that could be used.
Bill shared this auction for a Jeepster chassis and body with no bids, but there are additional jeeps in the auction:

“1949 Jeep with spare parts Does not run, no engine, has spare tub, fenders hood, springs, drive shafts, body rough on extra tub and rolling jeep. Can be used as parts or to put back together, have Transmission and transfer case that can be rebuilt with newer synchros and small bearing kits included, not all new bearings are there. This Jeep is not put together. Pictures show it will roll, but tub will have to be loaded separately. I have a Nevada Title that goes with it, but not in my name, it was signed by the previous owner. I will not answer to is it still available, once it is sold, it will be marked as sold and removed”
