Maury forwarded this jeep-related website. It’s not entirely clear to me what the site is about, other than to encourage jeep owners to wave. I always wave in Biscuit, but never think about it in our new jeep.

• CATEGORIES: Features, Jeepster This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Roger had a chance to move vehicles for the 2014 Mecum Auction in Kissimmee, Florida, this weekend. He reported that a 1948 Jeepster went for $42,000 (blue one below) and a 1950 for $39,000 (red). Roiger says both were perfect, better then new.

Here’s pics of both. First the ’48 and then the ’50.

Belgium Military Photos From Charles

• CATEGORIES: Features, Old Images This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Charles hunted down these Belgium related military photos. Some are from 1954 and celebrate Belgium’s “Can-Do Too” spirit. This is Padre Van Der Goten’s jeep.

It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World

• CATEGORIES: Features, videos This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Robin found a great short clip of the Willys Wagon that appears in the movie “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World“. I remember watching this movie as a kid, because it was one of my favorites. It’s a bunch of silliness.

Thickness of an M-38 Frame?

• CATEGORIES: Features This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Neil has some concern about the rust on his frame and wondered if anyone knew what the correct thickness of a M-38 frame should be. I did some searches, but I couldn’t find anything.

Cadillacs in a Dumpster

• CATEGORIES: Features This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Along the Miami River, among the island freighters, machine shops and boat yards is this bizarre sight at the Byrd Commercial Divers’ yard. Is it art, trash or a statement?  While a jeep is not visible, we can only assume there is a stout CJ-2A holding up the turquoise Cadillac. Maybe an someone knows what this display is about? And the model & year of each car?   Google map link: https://goo.gl/maps/REbwn

• CATEGORIES: Features • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Watch for a new M-677 Scam. Someone is trying to sell a M-677 that is owned by Dan Horenberger that isn’t for sale.  I don’t have a link to the ad yet. Here’s a list of a few other car scheme scams that I found on the net.

The scammer’s is going by the name ‘Kelvin Hardy’ and uses the email kelvinhardy9880@gmail.com. The scammer is asking only $4000 and claims the vehicle is in Kansas.

Please let me know if you spot a current ad for it. Here’s one of the photos:

• CATEGORIES: Builds, Features, M-38A1 This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Here’s a good story about a young Teen named Ben Zenger reported in the Winston-Salem Journal on Wednesday. At 9 years old he decided he wanted a jeep. He saved up his own money and, with his parents approval, bought one: A 1954 M-38A1 that needs some work. Check out all the information at the website:

February 1957 Motor Trend Article on the FC

• CATEGORIES: FC150-FC170-M677, Features, Magazine This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Motor Trend has a short throwback post about the February 1957 article on the FC-150. The author of the 1957 article made at least one error, accidentally indicating the engine was a Jeep six cylinder. I haven’t read the article, so I don’t know how through it is. You can view the short post here. Below is one of the story’s pics.

Photo of CJ-3B Tour Jeep Circa 1962 on eBay

• CATEGORIES: CJ-3B, Features • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: Brett noted the jeep is transporting the elephant. I originally thought the elephant was behind the jeep (after all, who transports an elephant in a jeep). Of course, sometimes they’ve been known to drive one.

Marc pointed out that this ‘Tour Jeep’ CJ-3B appears to have an extended rear. It looks like to me it  can carry extra people. The photo is circa 1962 and is probably from Africa. I wish we had a side shot of it. The photo is located in France, but shipping is free.

Mike’s Family of Jeeps

• CATEGORIES: Builds, Features This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Like Lays Potato Chips, Mike just couldn’t stop with one. He recently picked up the yellowish CJ-2A on the left off of eWillys.

Mike wrotes, “I just finished the shop about a month ago. The picture is a little dark but I had to wait for the last one,(Jeep) to come home. A grandson was out checking his game camera with “His Willy”, I do love to see the grandkids drop by and ask to take a jeep out, they all seem to have their favorites. All ‘46’s except the one ’47, it was the city of Nixa Mo fire engine in its last life.”
