I’m taking the day off. Updates resume Monday!

1956 CJ-5 Quincy, MA $12,999
It looks like this has a once piece grill/fenders? The fenders have an indentation along each side. Gives the jeep a little different look.

“This is a 1956 willys Jeep. Civilian variant of the M38A1 military Jeep. It’s a southern Jeep with a TN title. No mileage on the title because it’s exempt. The cluster has 8k on it. Car starts up runs and drives. Just tuned up with a new carburetor. Tub is steel and is mint with no rust. Frame is also immaculate and had been completely under coated. We have been using it as a beach cruiser. Car has a little Bimini top for the summer. Powered by the original 4cyl. 134cid/70hp 1bbl. Front axle is a Dana 25 and the rear axle is a Dana 44. Tranny is a T90 3 speed. Not trying to field a million questions come look at it. Cash in hand for a ride.”
1949? CJ-2A Trinidad, CO **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3420.
(02/16/2020) This has three data plates, so it is likely earlier than the listed year of 1949. Looks like it’s got a Porter & Reed hardtop.
“1949 Willys complete last time it runs smoked a little bit !”

Just a Handful of Updates
Just a handful of updates today, as I spent most of yesterday driving to Seattle and back.
No Updates Monday
I took Sunday off, so no updates for Monday.
Late Sunday night Washington’s Governor shutdown all restaurants/bars, so we’ve plunged deeper into a unique time. Thankfully, Ann and I are well suited for hunkering down for a month (though I’m estimating nothing will be back to ‘normal’ in the US for another 8 weeks at least). As long as we have internet, and I see no reason we won’t continue to have internet, I’ll post eWillys updates.
Our biggest issue will be Ann’s mother-in-law, as her health continues to deteriorate. In ordinary times, her last ditch opportunity to live would be through the use of a ventilator to help her breath. However, if, like Italy, ventilators become a scarce, she will likely be denied the use of one, which will seal her fate sooner rather than later.
If you want to track the rise of COVID-19, I’d recommend this site: https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6 (During my time in Silicon Valley, I worked with ESRI and its ARCGIS software, which is what powers the overlays on the map .. they have some cool tech). As test kits get dispersed, I expect US numbers will rise quickly.
For those considering going to Easter Week in Moab, according to my son, Utah’s Governor is urging Grand County to shut it down (part of his job is to work with cities and counties of Utah to manage emergencies like this). There have also been votes within Moab to shut this year’s event down. FCA has already pulled out this year. So, don’t be surprised if it doesn’t take place.
2020 FC-Round Up Cancelled
Jesse and Andrea made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s FC Round Up due to COVID-19. I believe it the right decision, not because I feared becoming ill, but because I have two health-compromised living with me, so I must be vigilant about not bringing it home. Because iof that, I was about to contact them and explain that I could not attend, which was especially hard because I was going to attend with my son.
Update to the Commenting System
Going forward, at least for the time being, comments made by readers who have not already had a comment approved, will require my approval to publish a comment. (basically, new posters will need their first comment approved). I’m hoping this reduces spam comments.
No Updates Tuesday
We made it home at 5pm on Monday. There were frequent stops, as Ms. Page came equipped with a ‘starter’ bladder, which is pretty small. However, to her credit, she never peed in the jeep. So, kudos to her.
On our drive through Montana we saw several feral jeeps along the highway in varying conditions. I also ran across a mid 1950s wagon in downtown Bozeman, kitty corner from the https://www.facebook.com/LaPaBozeman/ (which was very good). However, we were in a rush and the weather was snowy and cold through much of Montana, so I did not get any pics of them.
Everything should be back to normal Wednesday morning.
Just a Couple Updates for Thursday
Just a couple updates for Thursday.
I’ve been completing the set up of my 6 year old new-to-me MacBook Pro 15″ laptop computer, so that distracted me from updates yesterday. My 8 year old 17″ MacBook Pro laptop encountered screen problems after three years of use (I bought it NOS in 2016 as a backup … the failing screen is a known issue, but I’m past the warranty), so I had to return to my 10 year old 17″ MacBook Pro laptop, which is still doing pretty well (except for a stiff touch pad and just a tad slow), until I could get my new-to-me laptop up and running. Now, I can turn to fixing my 8 year old laptop for a backup computer.
Just a Few Monday Updates
We spent part of Sunday down in Walla Walla, looking at a few houses, eating gourmet gas station food at Andrae’s Kitchen, grabbing some bakery goodies at the Walla Walla Bread Company, and checking out the flooding that rocked the area last week. So, just a few updates related to the 1956 brochures for Monday.

Posts Delayed until Monday
UPDATE: I *think* I’ve found a workaround solution, as my main laptop is working once again. If you have 2011 Mac and have vertical lines (as seen below), you likely have a video card problem (aka the AMD graphics chip has failed). There’s a software strategy for working around that which you can find here.
I didn’t get much done yesterday, due to technical difficulties, so updates delayed until Monday. I spent a good deal of time replacing the motherboard on my main laptop, only to find out that the motherboard wasn’t the problem. Sigh. At least I have my 10 year old laptop still (and it still works pretty good).
It appears I will have to use a software hack to make the computer work properly again. So, that’s Sunday’s task….
Not good! I may end up purchasing another laptop. We’ll see how things go….
Just a Few Updates for Saturday
Just a few updates for Saturday. Updates resume Sunday.
Email Account update
UPDATE: Well, I spoke to soon. It’s acting goofy again. Continue sending messages to d@deilers.com. Thanks!
Well, it seems my d @ ewillys.com account is working once more. A hurried look through unread emails suggests that quite a few folks are awaiting responses. I only have 6000 messages to get through, so please be patient.
Just A Few Updates For Thursday
Just a Few Updates for Thursday. You see, I got so busy puzzling with Ann that I forgot to do the rest of the post. It’s a good way to start the year!
Just a Few Updates Today
Ann’s mom is in the hospital and, likely, doesn’t have too long to live, so updates might be hit & miss for the next few days.
No Updates Monday
No updates Monday; updates resume Tuesday morning. There will be updates on Christmas Day so folks with new digital toys can test them out using eWillys 🙂

This is a good example of a CJ-2A chassis with a replacement body that’s being mistakenly sold as a “military jeep”.
