Bill shared this fascinating video of a CJ-6 owner in Pakistan attempting to find a part to fix his jeep so he can ferry goods and passengers along a dangerous rode towards a land-locked village in the mountains of Pakistan.

Roger’s Remembrance Ride In Georgia
In case you hadn’t heard, Roger Martin’s father Jim ‘Pee Wee’ Martin passed away recently. He was one of the “Toccoa Originals”, one of the folks that was there when Camp Toccoa in Georgia first opened.
To honor his father, Roger drove up Mt. Currahee in a 1942 GPW loaned to Roger by his friend Paul Grice. The mountain road is 2.5 miles and climbs 850 feet. Roger was accompanied on the trip by two daughters, two nieces, and a few other family members. They all enjoyed the beautiful views!
Of course, Jim was one of several members of the 101st Airborne that were portrayed in the HBO series, The Band of Brothers. According to Roger, the series transformed Jim’s life. Here is unique look at Damien Winters and Jim sharing stories about making the series along with some of Jim’s experiences.
Nick’s Garage Works on a 1947 CJ-2A
Nick takes a look at this mostly stock 1947 CJ-2A. Note the unusual location the steering box mod (it does not appear mounted against the frame rail; rather, it is slid towards the passenger side six or more inches. I could only catch a few glimpses of it, such as time stamp 20:01-20:03 (there might be others). An additional cross member was welded between the bumper and the standard cross member, then a support was welded between the new crossmember and the bumper. It’s to that support that the steering box is attached.

2020 Fall Colors Tour Day 4
This video highlights the Day 4 adventures from the Fall colors tour in Colorado.
Arizona Flatfender Run w/ Nicole Johnson
Just a. few updates today. I got to get to painting this morning, as Ann is still suffering through migraines/auras (day 5), so is unable to paint (or do most anything).
Bill shared this video of Nicole Johnson tagging along on a stock flat fender run in Arizona. She does some of the driving, including a little rock climbing, which isn’t easy when you are driving someone else’s vehicle (so kudos to her).
There are a few comments along the way that aren’t quite correct. For example, the CJ-3A did not use the CJ-2A frame, but rather the frame switched near the end of the CJ-2A production into more of what would be a CJ-3A frame (no gussets, under mounted transmission crossmember).
Fall Color video from 2020 (Day 3)
This video is from the 2020 Fall Color tour and is narrated by Rick Pewe.
“Day 3 – Colorado Flat Fender Fall Color Tour The group divides for 2 different trails today. Join us as we cruise the Willys Lane on the way to Marshall Pass and we send Liam on an epic shelf road adventure to over 13,000 feet above sea level on Mt. Antero.”

1960 Video From the Gold Country Classic Jeep event
Dave Morgan shared this video taken by his father. With some research, Dave figured out the video was from the 1960 Gold Country Classic (I like the ‘backing a trailer event’ idea; it’s something different), a jeep event held by the Sacramento Jeepers Jeep Club. There is no sound.

=======================
Chris recorded a couple more videos. Many thanks to him for doing this!
You may need to tilt your phone or computer sideways to better see this video. This group of drivers is heading out for a trail ride.
This group of drivers is heading out for a road excursion. This one you don’t have to tilt your head…
Video From 2022 Willys Rally
Thanks to Chris Rutherford for shooting this video showing Friday morning at the Willys Rally. In the video I saw a few familiar folks, including Cowboy near his Jeep truck and Russ’ wagon, along with Barney manning his parts booth.
For some reason, when Chris spins the camera part way through, the video doesn’t spin, so some of the video you have to tilt your head to see. No matter, the effort is greatly appreciated!
Don Takes Us Around the Willys Reunion
I should have some updates on Friday morning. In the meantime, thanks to Don for giving us a guided tour of the 2022 Willys Reunion.
2022 Spring Willys Reunion Video
This past weekend was the Willys Reunion. I don’t have much in the way of photos (yet), but here is a video from the Red Eye Cafe Garage that highlights some of the jeeping and, later on, some of the vehicles that attended the reunion. One of the unexpected events was a 3AM fire drill at the hotel!

Video: Collection of 4300 Imported Vehicles
This video shows an impressive collection of imported vehicles in a Virginia “barn”, including some Mitsubishi Jeeps.
“It’s not often that Tom looks at shiny new cars, but when he heard about a Japanese import specialist who has collected and sold over 4000 Japanese manufactured vehicles, he couldn’t pass the opportunity up. We’re talking Datsun Z cars, GT-Rs, Accord Aerodecks, Figaros, Totota Coronas, Suzuki Jimnys, and many more. But the fun doesn’t stop there! Tom visits a nearby location that holds 300 plus Volkswagen Westfalias that have been collected from around the U.S. by a gentleman to help preserve and maintain the Westfalia population. Among the collection are a few rare utility Westfalias from different countries”
A Second Video of a Tour of the MD Juan Factory
Bill shared this second video fo a tour through the MD Juan Factory in the Philippines.
Short Video of Buick V-6s & Jeeps
Mike spotted this short video related to the Buick V-6s in jeeps. The narrator doesn’t mention that prior to Kaiser’s use of the engine in CJ-5s as an option, some dealers were already installing them. A Salt Lake City dealer (Hayes Brothers) was particularly active. Kits were also being made available for DIY folks, like this kit from Hoosier out of Pendleton. (btw, it was Kaiser Jeepk and not AMC, that purchased the Buick V6 tooling in the 1967).
The Caissons Go Rolling Along
UPDATE: Grant spotted this video whose first segment includes the music at the bottom and glimpses of some early prototype jeeps (Bantams various points, mostly between :30 and 2:20 and a Ford GP around mark :50):
===================
Originally published March 27, 2019: Carl pointed out that the 1944 sheet music for “The Caissons Go Rolling Along” sheet music included a jeep on the cover (#1 below). After some searching on eBay, some other popped up. I bought the bottom one that features the Ford GP and Willys MA.
WWII Jeep Gets an Honorable Discharge
UPDATE: I had something else planned for today, but my email turned flakey, so those pics will have to wait until tomorrow …. This is the third time I’ve reposted this, as the first two links turned back. I first posted the video below in 2015. It’s worth a second third look.
This video is called “WWII Jeep Gets an Honorable Discharge” and shows Mayor Fred Heine’s Ford GP. The video shows the jeep working on the farm. Lots of great shots. Wyatt’s father was the first person to work on it when Fred Heine couldn’t get it started. The jeep is now at the U.S.Veterans Memorial Museum in Huntsville Alabama, which was featured last week.
1944 Anzio Beachhead Newsreel
Grant shared this narration of landing and driving inward into Italy during 1944. It includes a variety of jeeps.
“This black & white film shows the early stages of the Allied forces invasion at Anzio, Italy in 1944. The film lacks credits or other information, but likely dates to 1944. The Battle of Anzio took place from January 22 to June 5, 1944, when Rome was finally captured. The operation was opposed by German forces in the area of Anzio and Nettuno. The landing operation was commanded by U.S. Army Major General John P. Lucas of VI Corps… ”
MD Juan Virtual Tour
Mike shared this video of a brief MD Juan factory tour. The video, in part, demonstrates the scope of equipment necessary to make some of the parts. It’s not a trivial investment in stamps and computer equipment.
Reviving a 1959 CJ-3B
Bill shared a video via Autorevolution.com that highlights the saving of a locked-up CJ-3B.
