Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. There’s an interesting article about Vic Hickey’s supercharged flat fender in the February 1955 issue of Car Craft Magazine. The cover shows a great color photo of the supercharger. Using a GMC Supercharger, the Vic made a variety of changes to deal with issues related to the installation.

“1946 Willys Jeep 4X4 CJ-2A
Original 4 cylinder flat head engine converted to 12 volt electrical system. Hard top and doors with roll-up windows. Disc braked with lock out hubs on front. Floorboards, frame and body are solid. Starts, runs, and drives. Low and Hi range works. Just had new points, plugs, condensor, distributor cap, and plug wires replaced and timing set. Will drop price $200 if sold without top.”

I’ve never seen a jeep advertised as a lawn decoration (even a fake jeep).
“Homemade wooden 1940’s Jeep/Ford/Willy’s lawn decoration. Built approximately 2 years ago, it is displayed 3 times a year, Memorial day, Veterans day, and the 4th of July, the rest of the time it is garaged. It is approximately 8’L x 4’W x 53″H, it sits on 2 cut to fit trailer axles with 12″ wheels, it is wired with 7 fluorescent lights that are easily accessible, it is wired for 110vac and has an on/off switch and approximately 10′ of plug cord. This is a decoration, it is not powered to move, and has no steering mechanism’s, however, it is more than sturdy enough to support a couple of adults/children for photo’s, which it has been used for a lot. Only serious enquiry’s please, there is a lot of money in this decoration and the price is firm, I am only hoping to free up some space in my garage, I will really hate to see this go.”

This is a project that has had over $6k invested, that i’m not going to be able to complete.
Everything you see is brand new or professionally refurbished $$$.
All parts are Factory 1950 Willys 3A parts or parts purchased from certified Willys vendors.
Comes with a brand new 3A body tub with all new steel. $2k
I purchased this Willys from a guy that had done several Jeep restorations & he had put a new Saginaw power steering set up on this 3A, everything else is as close to factory as it can.
Absolutely no rust on Body or Frame.
We have completed the frame & all the running gear has been rebuilt & replaced! (See Pictures)

(10/19/2009) This jeep may be worth a closer look. The hood looks nice and tight against the grille. The steps have been customized.
“This jeep has been in my family for over thirty years. Nobody has time to restore it to driving condition, so it is time to part with it. Last time it was started up the engine ran great, but it has been sitting for a few years getting the body worked on. It is currently stripped down to bare metal and is ready for a new paint job. I have an extra set of tires, everything for a tune up, the soft top, extra gas can and other various parts. I purchased a new tailgate and hood a year or two ago but haven’t put them on yet.”

This vehicle has not been licensed since ’78 so there will be no record with the state. right now it sits with an in line 6 cyl. I think AMC engine? But not sure. Buz found this beautiful wagon that’s for sale ($30,000). He writes, “Here are some photos I took today at the Charlotte (NC) Autofair at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the show runs through Sunday. “This is an all original 1 family owned 1966 JEEP CJ-6 w/ Kelly All steel Half Cab & original 6′ Meyers Plow …Only 30K mi. and has the Dauntless V6 !!…Interior is super for age..exterior shows mostly surface rust…a few rust throughs, but nothing too severe…..I had 2 cans of gloss white so I decided to see what the cab would look like redone as it was yellowed on outside (like in the back photo)..I spent just 2 hours with quick sanding and then ran out of paint before I was able to completely spray the top, but I think you get an idea of what it will look like…I didn’t touch anything else…Have original bill of sale from 12/1965…which shows the half cab and Meyers plow being original!!….Last used a couple years ago before the owner just got too old…This would not be a hard restoration, Again, this is 100% original and unmolested”
