Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. UPDATE II: This brochure is reminiscent of the Argentina jeep pickup, though this one looks much more CJ-5ish. This is currently on eBay.
UPDATE: Maury found a couple related photos. That top looks kind of similar to one of the DJ-3A tops I’ve seen in pics. Nice half doors, too.

Roger shared this story. A group of Costa Rican Jeep friends took their vintage jeeps out for an 2019 adventure to the beach, where they camped at least one night. This is their second ‘Willys Adventure’ together. (01/14/2019) TJ shared this Dutch-assembled M-38A1 jeep.
“1956 Jeep Nekaf M38A1 4WD Niederlandische Papiere
The Nekad M38 is actually a Willy’s M38 and was produced in the Netherlands under license.
The M38 is a military version of the CJ-3A.
The condition of this Nekaf is good, he has as few traces of wear here and there but it matches the condition of the militairy vehicle.
The engine of the Nekaf runs excellent and it drives very nice.”

“Spanish jeep viasa CJ3B. Perkins diesel 4-108 engine. Everything works perfectly and runs strong. Just had everything lubed, flushed,checked and even replaced the gas tank. Brought this beauty from Spain w me and it is a ton of fun to drive around. There are a few rips in the seats as you can see in the pics but it is strictly cosmetic.”

John pointed out that In a couple days the town of Pilsen in the Czech Republic will be celebrating its “Liberation Festival”. There’s a great photo on the front page from a previous year’s parade.

This wagon was shared by Rob, who is currently in Turkey. The price on this wagon is £7500, which he notes is quite a bit than it is worth. Two interesting features include the added handbrake/parking brake on the floor and the LPG tank in the back storage area.
Rob writes, “The tank in the back is actually an LPG gas tank, they are pretty much the normal here in Turkey as gas, petrol, diesel is expensive. These tanks are fitted by specialists, so they are safe. I have one on my jeep. This car or shooting brake as we used to call them in the UK is 2 km from our house on Turkey. It is parked up open not locked on a grass hard standing with about 6 other cars ,, just left there. The jeep fires up, I’ve been told. I tried to open bonnet without luck. The Willys motto is on the front at the top above the radiator.”

(10/19/2016) These wagons were produced in Brazil between 1960-1977. Learn more at the 3B site. This is likely one of only a couple of these in the US.
“1966 Willys Wagon / Willys Wagoneer. This is a very nice car and runs great The car is in good condition, seats that are in good condition (small tear on passenger side). Car is ready to go.”

I have not looked at you page recently because I was enjoying holidays and driving my CJ-3A. I spent a complete month in the East! In”the East” is where the ocean beaches are located. I took a couple photos while out driving his jeep. The only problem he encountered was a temporally stuck valve seal. Once the engine heated up, it loosened and worked fine.
Wondering around with the Jeep was fantastic! Very nice weather (not very hot or rainy, it happens sometimes). The day I came back I got some rain in the road, nothing to bother with a bikini top.
Next day looking at the news, I read that only 60 km east of me in Punta del Este there was a huge storm (summer storm with lots of rain) and I found this picture in the newspaper. Funny isn’t it?
It is a street full of water, and during the storm the MB could not make it (obviously problem of the driver!!!). Notice in the background there’s a new jeep waiting.
One day while on vacation I visited Piriapolis. I spotted several low hood Jeeps in amazingly very good shape. Around 5. Several CJ5 but these are easier to find. I only had my shorts, no camera or cell!!”
There’s an article on the gulf news website about the Rajputana Jeep Club. The group has 29 members with a variety of older jeeps. Nice to see them fixing and running them.

Roger sent us a second report: “This near Son, Netherlands where my dad jumped in the Market Garden invasion September 17th 1944. My dad Jim Martin and I rode in a convoy of military vehicle. This GPW Jeep belongs to Han Pulles. My friend Kevin and I rode in Han’s Jeep with his son Barry. Dad road in one of the trucks. We had a great time. Thanks to Han and his son Barry for taking us along for the ride!”
UPDATE: Roger called me to provide a little additional info. First, the “young lady” with whom Jim is shaking hands is actually the Prime Minister of Defense for the Netherlands. Apparently, there were numerous other dignitaries and security was tight.
I’m taking a break for the night, but don’t worry. Roger Martin and his father Jim “Pee Wee” Martin have been busy in the Netherlands. Roger’s father was invited over to participate in some WWII events and visit numerous museums. I can’t say exactly which photos go with which musuem, but they are still interesting to look at. Christian and his group of jeep enthusiasts gathered together once again. He reports they had fun, despite some heavy rain. Joining them was a couple from the UK, James and Annie, who are traveling around Europe in their Willys MB. I’m hoping to find out if James and Annie are reporting on their adventure online.

Christian shared the news that the jeep-group he started is heading to Italy this year. He wrote, “Right now we’re about to prepare for a trip down to Italy, where they celebrate the Liberation (Liberatione) on April 25th and a group of Jeep-enthusiasts started una colonna della liberta in 2006. Every year it takes place in a different region of Italy. This time it’ll be in the Padova area. We’ll roll down to there with a group of 11 Jeeps to join the Colonna with its about 150 WW2-US-military-vehicles.”

This CJ-6ish jeep has no fuel inlet on the driver’s side. It also appears to have some kind of Tuxedo Park package (front bumper for example). Price is a crazy $99! It’s listed as a 1958 CJ-3B brochure.

In 1966 the Jeep News Magazine reported on a 14,000 mile trip by Mr. And Mrs. J. Th. van Reijsen of the Netherlands.
Gayland forwarded these pics from a co-worker of his who visited Colombia. It’s a Casa Willys Restaurant (notice the sign in the upper right of the first photo) located in Salento, Colombia. It’s well rated by Trip Advisor.
