About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

While looking for something else, I was pleasantly surprised with this video of Bruce Agan’s former 1964 DJ-3A Surrey. The video was posted in 2012, prior to his passing. He was the guru of Surreys and Galas for a time and his restoration (including all the interior fabric) is a testament to that fact. There are various photos of his Surrey, Surrey advertising, and other jeeps on Flickr.
Brian spotted this photo showing 4 Bantam BRC-60s rolling down a hill. This was posted to the Butlers Standard Eight Facebook Group. The text on the photo reads: “Bantam BRC 40s” Four of the 70 prototypes produced between September 1940 and December 1940. Despite what the text indicates, we know those as Bantam BRC-60s, not 40s.
UPDATE: Bruce Agan assembled these clips of DJ-3A scenes from the movie, “When the Girls Take Over”.
===========================
Original Post May 10, 2018:
Maury spotted this rare poster for the movie “When the Girls Takeover“. The full movie is on Youtube and the jeep appears in multiple scenes.
“THIS AUCTION IS FOR ONE Original Vintage 1962 MOVIE POSTER FOR THE MOVIE “WHEN THE GIRLS TAKE OVER”.
THE POSTER IS IN GOOD SHAPE AND THE COLORS ARE GOOD AND CLEAR BUT THE WHITE BACKGROUND HAS SLIGHT DISCOLOR DUE TO ITS AGE. THE EDGES SHOW SLIGHT WEAR BUT WILL LOOK GOOD WHEN FRAMED.
THE POSTERS MAIN IMAGE IS OF A WILLYS JEEP “PINK SURRY”!
THE MOVIE FEATURED ROBERT LOWERY, MARVIN MILLER, JACKIE COOGAN, AND JIMMY ELLISON. IT MEASURES 22X28 INCHES.”
Clip from the beginning showing several Surreys in a row.
UPDATE: Bill shared David Tracy’s updated to this commercial. Apparently, there’s a disagreement on the history of the truck between the former owner and jeep. While an interesting story, I still think it’s a big issue over nothing.
Several folks have emailed about the controversy over the new Gladiator Jeep ad. The new ad shows an old Jeep Gladiator being crushed from which the new Gladiator emerges. Some folks resent the fact that the old Gladiator was crushed, as it appears to be in restorable shape. Given there were over 100,000 of them produced, I don’t think crushing one will cause the world to end. There are also plenty of cheap ones available. I found these two on my very first search:
The actual crushing aside, my problem with the commercial is this: If the point of creating a new Gladiator was to benefit from the nostalgia of the original Gladiator, crushing the life out of an old Gladiator doesn’t do that. Nostalgia should be about reliving happy memories not, literally, crushing old memories.
For fun, here’s an old Jeep Gladiator commercial (the first 30 seconds is an introduction, but the remainder of the video is a commercial or 2 separate commercials):
“Offered for auction is a vintage Auburn Willys Jeep FC-150 4X4 truck, which measures approximately five inches in length. It is made of a red rubber-like material. It has images of passengers in the side windows, and the cab details are highlighted with silver paint. It sports black tires, and the front axle is out of line. The toy is in used condition with some warping, which is present in most of these old rubber toys. There is some dark staining on the surface from age. This toy is suitable for display or just plain play.
This Jeep FC-150 truck will make a great addition to a Jeep and/or forward control truck collection.”
“Up for sale is a fun little rat rod. I don’t see many M-38A1s with dually’s and the extra fender.
“This is a really neat 1952 Willys M38 A1 Korean War piece of History. It has the extremely rare dual rear wheel conversion, it still has the machine gun mount brackets in the rear, it has the blackout lighting, and it has a PTO mounted underneath. The Jeep starts and drives, but it needs a complete restoration before it is roadworthy. I got it from an estate, so I know no history on it, I was planning on redoing it, but it is more of a project than I can handle. For someone that has the knowledge, tools, and resources to redo this, it would be an amazing addition to any collection. The price is as low as it is going to go. So many people have said they’re coming to get it, or have tried to lowball me, that this is at. The price is $5,500 firm.”
“WillysJeep CJ-3B produced by Willys-Overland in 1953, Willys-Overland was sold to the Kaiser-Frazer Corporation, who adopted the Willys Motors name until 1964. The CJ-3B, a transitional model that narrowed the gap between the CJ and M38-A1, while similar in many ways to the 2A and 3A, had one major difference: the new F-Head Hurricane engine, which delivered more horsepower, but demanded a higher hood, a structural feature that also distinguished it from earlier CJs. The new Hurricane engine delivered a marked improvement in performance, with larger intake valves in the head and increased fuel economy.
I have owned this jeep for 2 years, fixed a few minor issues and now I am looking to make room for another vehicle. The vehicle is a total rebuild which if you come over and check it out, listen to the engine and take it for a spin, you’ll see it is in great shape, all around. Asking $24,000 OBO”
“Up for sale is late 1942 Ford GPW WWII Jeep. This is fresh from the cow pastures of Texas!
THIS IS A NON RUNNING PARTS VEHICLE! Lets go with the “Good, Bad, and the Ugly”.
The good is that it is late 1942 ford with a lot of ford marked parts. It has an GPW radiator, early Sheller steering wheel, nice earlier style hood, ford axles, 1 combat wheel, clean rear panel, nice CJ2a style windscreen, a period correct hand crank winch on the bumper, 2 of the brass data plates on the glove box, motor is Willys MB that was a depot rebuild at the Red River Arsenal 3-3-58, WWII carter carb, OG oil bath air cleaner, and many F marked bolts. “We are offering a 1945 USA Converto trailer used by the Army and Navy, as well as Marine Corps in World War Two WW2.
We were in gold country, in central California, hunting for a few things to bring home to the shop when we found this lovely Converto trailer, which is complete, and original. It even has both of the original BF Goodrich military issue tires, which are extremely rare.
Date plates are intact, and only needs paint, wiring, and the canvas bag for the front. If we replace these ourselves, the trailer will list at full retail value- $2,500”
Several folks shared this photo with me. It was published by Paul Swanson on Facebook. HIs family used to own the dealership. The fourth vehicle in the row looks to be an unusual model of the economy/package/delivery van. You’ll note it lacks front hubs, suggesting it was 2WD. Some were 2WD and some 4WD vans: http://www.ewillys.com/2020/07/06/photo-of-an-unusual-boyerstown-built-2wd-delivery-van/
Paul dates the photo to 1957, but to me the FC-150 on the left and the first FC-150 in the row of jeeps look like they are not narrow tracks, which would put the photo later than 1957. Moreover, I cannot find any ads for Park Jeep earlier than the summer of 1958.
Paul indicated that he will post better images of the van.
From the February 02, 1960, issue of the Minneapolis Star. Strangely, I could not locate any ads earlier than the summer of 1958. So, it’s unclear to me when the dealership opened. You’ll note this ad mentions an Economy van; maybe the one in the pic above never sold.
“1943 World War II military jeep. Clean clear California title with no back fees. It’s all stock except for the small Block Ford V8 that runs excellent. It also has hanging petals with hydraulic brake and clutch master cylinder. This is a great little run around hot rod Jeep that could easily be a candidate for a full restoration or Rockcrawler build. Or just leave it the way it is and have a great time. If you don’t think this is a great deal, then it probably isn’t the deal for you 😊 It has all of the hard stuff to find. Nine slot military grill with the stock headlights and headlight brackets. Tool boxes with latches in the back of the tub. Hood without Willys on it. The correct windshield frame. The stock high-capacity gas tank etc. (I will not be available to show this vehicle until Tuesday, December 29. This will be first come first serve in person cash sale.”
Has a variety of updates. The outside has a bed-liner.
“1948 Jeep Willys · Suv · Driven 3,150 mile WITH TITLE!!!!! Time to sale my old Jeep. I use this a lot in the summer as a town and back road cruiser. Its runs perfect and Pretty much everything is new. It’s fully rhino-lined. 350-SBC with the T-90. PB, PS, fuel cell in rear. No frame rust, Brand new 35×12.50” MT tires. Everything works well. “F134, T90,Dana18, 5:38 gears, I bought this 2 years ago at auction. Since then did a full body off frame restoration. Rust free Frame, body has minor rust by drain plugs & rear body mounts. Rebuilt the T90. New complete Exhaust & muffler. It has 30” 15×7.5 Coker tires with spare. New gas tank Solex carburetor but i do have the Carter YF. Myers Hardtop W/ doors but still work in progress. Farmers Draw Bar hitch Seats i made myself. 8 extra 15” wheels I do have extra axles. One from a CJ7 & (2) 1966 CJ5 4:88 axles, covered in snow. It is Titled & has insurance. Price is a bit high, only reason theres high demand for Jeeps. I am flexible on price. Drop me a DM.”
It turns over, but doesn’t start at the moment. The Kelly hardtop looks to me to be the Custom Full Cab, rather than a Safari top.
“Price reduced…
This Jeep is actually a CJ6 safari edition. It has a pto pinch with snow plow attachment. I don’t have the plow. The engine turns over but don’t start due to the fuel system being disconnected to be cleaned. Just don’t have time to finish it.”
