Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. It turns over, but doesn’t start at the moment. The Kelly hardtop looks to me to be the Custom Full Cab, rather than a Safari top.

This Jeep is actually a CJ6 safari edition. It has a pto pinch with snow plow attachment. I don’t have the plow. The engine turns over but don’t start due to the fuel system being disconnected to be cleaned. Just don’t have time to finish it.”

There have been many variations of Veep bodies produced over the years, this one is one of the more sought after versions, as it is metal rather than fiberglass. Rebuilt throughout and runs and drives extremely well. Body is straight, paint is not perfect and has it’s share of minor blemishes, but is still a presentable toy.

This M-38A1 has been spruced up.
“1952 Willy’s M38A1 Jeep retrofitted/modified with 1965 body. Switched from 6 volt operating system to 12 volt. Replaced original seats with leather-electric seats. Repainted exterior and added cd/AM-FM radio, built in cooler (insulated the old 6 volt battery compartment and installed drain), original 4 cylinder flat top engine and 3 speed transmission (has creeper gear) has choke and throttle cables. Still have original ignition key. Runs great, drives great, awesome off road vehicle!! Has won several awards from previous car shows. Has climbed many a sand hill and trails but still looks great. Newer tires and new battery.
One of a kind vehicle, not many still out there! Asking $6800”

I spoke with Calvin about this Jeep. It underwent a frame up refurb with lots of new parts from Ron Fitzpatrick. The paint job was custom done by a local artist and is clear-coated. “This is a 1956 willys Jeep. Civilian variant of the M38A1 military Jeep. It’s a southern Jeep with a TN title. No mileage on the title because it’s exempt. The cluster has 8k on it.
