Hamm’s Beer Commercial and Stickers
UPDATE II: More Hamm’s stuff thanks to Maury:
- Here are some Hamm’s Thermo-Serv plastic mugs with Hamm’s on them.

- A second TV commercial (no jeep, but includes the guy and the bear):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzfJ9_nVJlY
UPDATE: Maury shared a TV commercial that accompanied the Hamm’s beer ad campaign shows in the stickers below. For those old enough to remember Grizzly Adams, which I watched as a kid, it sure feels like an episode of that show. It turns out there was a John “Grizzly” Adams (1812-1860), upon whom the movie/show may have been based, who lived a pretty wild life.

1945 Envelope with the “J” logo on eBay
This unusual envelope was printed with the briefly promoted “J” logo, used by Willys-Overland during late 1945.
Aug. 18, 1944 Newspaper Ad for the Willys Jeep
Here’s a curiously early newspaper ad for the Willys Jeep in the August 18, 1944, page 3, of the Healdsburg Tribute and Enterprise out of California. It’s a small, one-column, straight to the point ad without any credit as to what company placed the ad. This may be the earliest ad for the jeep I’ve seen in a newspaper. This would have been placed during Willys-Overland’s fight with the FTC over W-O’s use of the term “Jeep” in its marketing.
The ad was again published the following month in Monterey, Virginia, on September 29, 1944, in the Highland Recorder: https://virginiachronicle.com/cgi-bin/virginia?a=d&d=HR19440929.2.28.1&e=——-en-20–1–txt-txIN-willys+jeep——-

1960s Australian CJ-6 Brochure
This brochure was on eBay. It sold for $20.52 (I lost out on it). Unfortunately, the photos on the ebay ad only showed a few pages.
“This is a listing for an AUSTRALIAN WILLYS JEEP CJ-6 sales brochure from the 1960s. This brochure was printed in Australia for the domestic Australian market. This brochure has 8 pages of illustrations, specifications and other information. See photos for details.”
1962 May/June Issue of Carbogram Featuring Willys
This Carbogram was published six times a year by the Holley Carburetor Company of Warren, Michigan. The below issue features the announcement that Willys would be using Holley’s 2300 Carb in conjunction with the new Tornado-OHC engine.
Newgren Row-Crop Cultivator Brochure
When your crops need cultivating, look no further than Newgren! This brochure appeared in a late 1940’s Special Equipment Book.

Heavy Duty ‘Jeep’ 6 Brochure
I snagged this rare Heavy Duty ‘Jeep’ 6 Engine and Power Unit off of eBay for a good price. I’ve never seen another of these. Given the Kaiser Willys Motors branding and the lack of a date/ad stamp, I’d say this was mid-1950s.
Ventura Manufacturing’s Harrow Brochures
These two two-page brochures from the Venture Manufacturing and Implement Company appeared in an early Willys-Overland Equipment Book. One advertises a “spiketooth” harrow, while the other advertises a “springtooth” harrow.
The Spiketooth Harrow:
The Dowden Potato Digger Brochure
This potato digger was featured in a late 1940s Special Equipment booklet. Probably not many of these left.
Newgren Porto-Mill Feed Grinder Brochure
I published the green version of these (seen below) of this brochure, but not the red/black/white version. This red version really pops.
A Good Laugh … $35,000 Jeep Brochure
Thanks to Maury, we can have a good laugh. He spotted this auction. Someone is trying to sell this brochure on eBay for $35,000, with bids starting at $25,000. I have this same brochure, but mine says “Willys Overland Export Company” instead of “Willys of Canada Limited Windsor Ontario” and costed me only $25.

1963 Panel Delivery Brochure on eBay
I am surprised there’s no reference to it being a Jeep Wagoneer, just a ‘Jeep’ Delivery Wagon.

Krause “9” Plow For the Jeep
This late 1940s brochure was produced by the Krause Plow Corporation out of Hutchinson, Kansas. The Company has a long history and is still in business today.
Aeroquip Special Equipment Brochure
This rare brochure probably doesn’t mean much to most folks, but hopefully it’s important to someone.
Monroe Fire Lane Plow and Pumper Unit Brochure
UPDATE: Barry shared this image from April 1951 Popular Science article. Per the article, at a minimum, twenty-four of these truck packages were sold.
