Morrison Snow Plow Brochure on eBay

I bought one of this seller’s Morrison brochure. It’s in very good condition. It is unclear how many of these he has. I suspect it’s from the late 1940s, given it only features CJ-2As.

“You are buying or bidding on a rare vintage early 1950’s “The Morrison-Built Rogers Sno-Dozer For Jeeps” brochure. This was originally sold as a plow and scraper and was from the late 40’s. They were later produced by the Morrison Railway Supply Corp. Buffalo, New York. This is 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ opens twice to a 11″ x 8 1/2″. This is in excellent condition.(see pics)”

Boomer Needs Snow Plow Info

• CATEGORIES: Advertising & Brochures, wanted This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Our good friend Boomer plans to do some snow plowing to help out his Minnesota neighbors. Rather than plow driveways (too much shit to hit, he says) he will open up all his neighbor’s curb cuts.

He’s snagged a Western plow blade attachment, but he still needs the blade. Does anyone have suggestions what blade length he should seek? 6′ or 7′ or 8′ or something else?

Thanks!

Meyer Snow Plow & ElectroLift Brochure

• CATEGORIES: Advertising & Brochures, Features This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

The Meyer Snow Plow brochure includes a large section about the ElectroLift. Labeled form no. 3-163, the brochure is a standard paper side with a half-paper-sized section that folds out horizontally to reveal more details about the Electrolift. There is not date on this brochure, but I’d guess early 1960s.

These two two-page brochures from Meyer once again highlight the company’s snow plows.

This first brochure showcases the Meyer Angle Dozer and is dated July of 1962 and is form no. 3-114 (though on the backside it shows 3-114 R2, suggesting the backside may have been a 1st or 2nd revision):

This second one is an undated form no. 3-283, but given it includes a Jeepster Commando, it is likely from the late 1960s.:

Given the early Wagoneer and the (25M63) printed on the back, this may be a Meyer Snow Plow tri-fold brochure from 1963.

Scheneker Iron Works Snow Plow Brochure **SOLD**

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.

Maury spotted this one. Listed as a 1943 Ad, this clearly was a post war ad. The first clue is the CJ looking grille. The second clue is the suggestion that folks could find a plow at their “Jeep Dealer”. It’s likely a late 1940s brochure, as it has shown up in late 1940s Willys-Overland Special Equipment booklets.

UPDATE: This post from 2013 originally consisted of a brochure from eBay, but for this update I’ve added some additional brochures and Tom’s video showing how he uses the Blackhawk snow plow in Northern Wisconsin. The Arps Corportation manufactured these plows out of New Holstein, Wisconsin. Near the end of the video he shows how he mounts the plow and manual adjusts the angle using a chain.

Glenn M. Rogers, Morrison, Newgren Snowplow

• CATEGORIES: Advertising & Brochures, Features This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: This is an a rewrite of a couple different brochures to document the snow plow and scraper relationship between the Glenn M. Rogers Company, the Morrison Railway Supply Company, and the Newgren Company.

I believe Morrison manufactured the Snowplow and Scraper based on a Rogers design and the completed item was marketed through the Newgren Company. As I’m no expert on these plows, or the relationship between these companies, this is all conjecture based on the brochures.

Here are several different brochures through the years and a couple Sno-Dozer data plates at the very bottom. This first brochure shows the Glenn M. Rogers company marketing the snow plow. This 1948 brochure does not mention the Morrison company.

Scan10126-glenn-m-rogers-earth-scraper-plow

Scan10127-glenn-m-rogers-earth-scraper-plow

In this brochure, also from 1948, it appears Newgren is offering a Roger’s plow setup that’s been combined with Monroe hydraulics (with three different hydraulic options no less).

newgren-morrison-snow-plow-lores1 newgren-morrison-snow-plow-lores2

There’s no date on this brochure, but in it Morrison is now credited with the manufacturing of the Rogers design, with Newgren still marketing the package. There’s no mention of the hydraulic options. I am leaning towards this being a circa 1949 – 1951 brochure. This brochure may have introduced the “Sno-Dozer” brand name.

I like the way the hydraulic line from the snow plow was fed through the open window. K & K claimed the blade could be installed in two minutes or less. I’m thinking it should have been called the “Two Minute Snow Blade”.

Meyer Plowing Video

In a seasonally perfect topic, Tim forwarded this link that included a video that has some vintage video of jeeps moving snow with Meyer plows. The video notes that Meyer has been selling plows since World War II. I happened upon a second Meyer video on youtube, featuring 1960s innovations.  Finally, below the videos are four pages from a 1947 special equipment book showing early Meyer ads.
