Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Toby purchased a 1966 CJ-5 from an original owner and found this letter inside the owners manual. Note the last paragraph (no coverage for squeak and rattles, lol).
I believe this is the first Advertising and Merchandise Bulletin that I have owned (or even seen). I bought several of these together on eBay. The particular one details the “600 series” of tri-fold brochures available during 1960 (which is one of those nagging issues I’ve always wondered about .. how many brochures were made). So, this answers that question. There were only 13 in that series.

I spotted this Warn hub brochure out of Canada on eBay. It’s not I have documented. Its 1954 date makes it a fairly early one for the locking and automatic hub models.

Here’s a second version of a 1945 Mobiloil ad featuring jeeps. This was part of a series of military-related ads buy Mobiloil in 1945 (see others here). I haven’t yet seen any other ones with jeeps in them.

Jan was kind enough to share this rare brochure from Farmcraft, LTD, another seller of refurbished WWII jeeps. I’ve seen the Burleigh in another ad from 1949, but the text (as best as I could read) did not mention Farmcraft. A Hemmings article shared a pic of the Burleigh, and mentioned Farmcraft. I suspect Farmcraft partnered with, bought out or evolved from Burleigh.
UPDATE II: Here’s another 1950 Salgittzer brochure from Germany, but it is only four pages. Thanks to Jan for sharing it! This makes three different 1950 brochures.

July 12th UPDATE: I received both of the Salzgitter brochures I purchased out of Germany. The 1950 brochure is a version lacks several of the pages shown in the brochure at the very bottom. The 1949 brochure is a tiny (1/4 sheet-size) one-page brochure.
Jan out of the Netherlands shared this unique Perkins Brochure that highlights. I don’t have a date for it. I found one of these brochures for sale out of the UK and another one here, though it is priced higher. And, here is an M-38 for sale in the UK with that conversion.
After failing several times, I finally won a copy of this Hatari-themed jeep brochure. It is from number DM 62-03. Learn more about Hatari and Jeep at the CJ-3B page.

It agains open up horizontally, both to the left and to the right, to reveal several different vehicles that appear in the movie, including a truck, a CJ-6, a wagon, and an FC-170.

Maury shared this video from AMC Jeep. I was 18 when this came out in 1983. I’m sure I must have seen this on TV and I hazily remember the folks riding a bison, but don’t remember the full commercial.

Original published March 20, 2023: This early version of the San Juan Scenic Jeep Tours brochure was pre-FCs. It was listed for sale on eBay at some point. Thankfully, the images were still available.
The price on this rare ad has dropped to $12.00 (with $7 shipping). I can’t recall seeing this one. The seller has four of these for sale.

A big thanks to Joe-in-Mesa, and wife Jan-in-Mesa, who found a couple toys and brochures at a great price while visiting the MVPA convention in Des Moines, Iowa, last week.
The Marx tin windup cowboy jeep has details that I haven’t seen on similar cowboy jeeps. I thought it was the best of the two, even though the windup spring doesn’t quite work.
The four-passenger Marx Jumpin’ Jeep in green and yellow is more familiar, with graphics in good shape as well.
I had neither of the two brochures they found, so that was a bonus (see the posts below)!

UPDATE: Thanks to Joe-in-Mesa, I obtained a yellow version of this same 1950/1951 brochure, though the form number (SD 73 M5 651-1CM the 651 may indicate this was published June of 1951) is different. The only difference between the two that I can see between this one and the brochure at the bottom is the color of the brochure (yellow).

Finally, one more, similar Willys Sedan Delivery brochure, only it’s not as large or as colorful as the others. In fact, I’d call it a black, gray and white brochure. It’s form number is SD-M3-73–50M. Given it doesn’t label the Hurricane engine as new, it’s probably later than the other brochures, maybe 1951.
I’ve not documented a Willys-Overland postcard promoting its Planadyne suspension.

I just bought this postcard. It was mis-listed under “Jeeping on the San Juan Islands, Washington”. Now, Mt. Moran is a pretty good sized mountain (for the San Juan Islands), but pales in comparison to the San Juan Mountains in Colorado, where this photo was obviously taken. This is a 4×6 card and I’m hoping I can identify which tour jeep the is once I get the card. Given the red cage and red bar up the center, I’m leaning towards this being mine.
Andy shared these ads. One is for a General Electric 200 Amp Arc Welder brochure and the other is for the Universal Jeep. Both appear to be from 1945.

I recently purchased a special equipment binder off ebay. Usually, there are a few interesting brochures inside. This time, it was full of these pink price sheets, like this:
However, thankfully, inside the book there was a second small booklet that did have some brochures, and a few interesting ones.
As an example, I’ve never run across this unusual 4-page McCain Hub Winch brochure.
UPDATE: Here’s a second type of Warn-A-Larm brochure. It is a single page, form #AC1166-20 (maybe 11/1966?).

This is a product I didn’t know existed at one time. According to this four-page brochure, the Warn-A-Larm is a backup alarm device to warn folks when a vehicle is backing. It appears the brochure is from June 1969.

I’ve seen these Tilt-o-meters in various jeeps, but I didn’t know they produced a brochure:
This is a device I’ve never seen. When a vehicle is stuck it brakes the spinning wheel, forcing the non-spinning wheel to spin (and hopefully) un-sticks the vehicle.
The Sierra Pack’age’ Trip Tri-Fold brochure was probably printed in the early 1960s. It’s the first time I have run across a California or Sierra Nevada brochure for guided jeep tours. The company is referenced both as “Jeeps, Inc.” and as “Sierra Tours by Jeeps, Inc.”.
This 3rd page only has print on one side. It’s a flyer that was stuck into the brochure.
Here’s another unusual brochure. It’s possible I have another somewhere else and just never posted it. The brochure is from W-10021.
This brochure appears to have been produced by Shaver’s Jeep Sales, meaning it was probably a product offered by this particular dealer. The appear to be replacement seat cushions?
